Bright, bitter lemon tartness and acidity, high minerality bordering on salinity. More bodied starfruit and melon flavors. — 4 months ago
The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has an effervescent bouquet with orange zest and almond scents. Seaspray touches come through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant sour lemon twist on the entry, relatively fresh and tensile with a brisk, quite peppery, lemony finish that lingers in the mouth. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, December 2023)

This wine is a great bargain and also shows how Bouchard has ramped up their quality in recent years. Pale lemon color with pronounced aromas of acacia, lemon, green apple, pear, wet stone, vanilla, clove, smoke, and a bit of honey. All is conveyed on the palate as well with a beguiling, creamy texture and a long finish. This is a lovely wine that is approachable now but will improve for another five or 10 years. 16 years old but still fresh and zesty—crab apple, stone and a hint of honey. Unmistakable white burgundy characteristics that only improved as the night went on. Enjoyed the 2008 vintage with an exquisite Kaiseki dinner at Hayato in LA. Happy Birthday to me! — 3 months ago
