The other evening we opened the 2019 Bergström Gregory Ranch Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton AVA. From Newberg, Oregon.
On the nose is strawberry, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, spice, rose petal, barnyard, matchbox and earth.
On the palate there is strawberry, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, spice, mushroom and earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth bright mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium fine polished tannins that leaves you with a long red fruit forest floor finish. This is a seriously good wine. I hope everyone's holiday weekend has been one good with lots of sharing and happiness with family and friends. Stay safe and healthy the rest of the weekend. Pretty ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of black cherries, sweet raspberries, strawberries, light wood, spices, earth, vegetables, light barnyard and herbs.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with red cherries, strawberries, raspberries, spices, light oak, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.
Tangy finish with soft tannins and cranberries.
This is a tasty Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. Showing light elegance, with a soft mouth feel.
Still young and will benefit from a few years in the bottle.
Good right out of the bottle, and shows more complexity after 30 minutes of airtime.
This 3 year old Single Vineyard is fruit forward and tangy. Spicy and entertaining.
Aged in French oak barrels (35% new) for 10 months. Unfiltered and unfined.
I paired it with cheeses and dried meats.
13.7% alcohol by volume.

Chapters, layers, depth. Unfolds over a few seconds. Transient from one to the next. Maybe a little brett? — 5 days ago
Twin’s 5th Birthday!! PnP. Dark red color. Awesome nose of oak, dark cherries, and subtle hints of vanilla. Wine has medium depth with cherries, anise, and earth. Finish is a little harsh and sour with some tea, but very good for the price. Probably at prime drinking age. Glad I have 3 more bottles! — 21 days ago
