Exceptional wine with elegant and round tannins, well balanced and beautifully structured. Competes against the very best of Bordeaux. — 8 years ago
Not bad after coravin but still not the French stuff — 8 years ago

Always been fond of Paloma after enjoying such a lovely tasting at the estate with the owner surrounded by hummingbirds and feeling like part of the family! Enjoyed the last of our three bottles of the '07 with Bill and Amy during graduation after we did a little Coravin blind taste. Soft and definitely ready to go. Delicate red fruits and very mellowed acid and tannin. — 9 years ago
2008 tasted via Coravin on 1-10-2015. Perfumed nose, elegant, light bodied Napa Cab. Smooth tannins, matching perfectly with grass-fed Tbone. Will get better with time. Beautiful now. — 9 years ago

Coravin sold by the ounce (from 375), how could I resist? Really nice but didn’t totally blow me away like expected though — 6 years ago
so, this was rated on a curve. stored in a fridge in another city. fridge died in summer and it was weeks before i found it. it was baked. and then it was weirdly ok. just used it to explain to @captain henrik how get wine out of a bottle with a coravin (merry xmas, cap'n!) expecting it to be destroyed. lo and behold. second wine from that lot which wasn't ruined. the OTHER, miraculously, was the bernaudeau "sans souffre" which I'll never understand why it was ok. maybe there are wine elves sticking ice in the dead fridge until I found it.... god jul!! — 7 years ago
Another level... Still dense at the core, with steady, attractive bricking: Wonderfully dense nose of blackcurrents, pencil shavings, fine tanned leather, and a hint of woodland floor (fine moss, leaves, and fresh soil after an autumn shower). Velvety tannins and great acidity. Along with the '66 this is one of my all-time favourite Bordeaux vintages. Seems to be keeping up better than the '61s I've had over the last few years!
We drank half of it from the coravin before waxing the top in case the cork had lost too much elasticity to self-seal. I'll have the rest with my brother in a few weeks' time! — 8 years ago
2009 vintage, Le Clos from Coravin. Medium ruby hue. On the nose, medium plus intensity of blackberry, sloe, pencil shavings, smoke and savoury spices. Some pyrazines and leafiness. There's some pleasant development - mainly leather and earth. Nice complexity despite its youth. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium body, medium tannin - chewy. Medium alcohol and long savoury, black fruity finish. Delicious. There's a real tang on the mid palate and with air there's more smoke and savoury tones than at first blush. Classic Clos Rougeard. Drink now until 2026+. 93/100 — 8 years ago
Earthy fruit Jose jumps out, washes the palate with delicately balanced bold cherry flavors. Long finish from med+ acidity. #love #merrychristmas #coravin — 8 years ago

30 days after coravin. Cooler vintage really nice aromatics. Wine still fresh. — 10 years ago
Coravin treatment 4 months ago, opened bottle last night with about 1/3 left. Beautiful, lush layered black fruit buried in a forgotten laundry hamper. — 11 years ago
Preliminary note: Quick coravin to check in on this sample before the weekend. Deep ruby red. On both the palate and the nose with lots of savory elements mixed in with some red berries and a little dark at the end. Some floral notes too like roses. Amazing structure and backbone. So balanced for being so young. Heavy tannins (8/10), full bodied and super long finish. Time will only help this wine and I can easily see up to another two decades from now for this wine. Killer potential and a real surprise! Can drink now with a super long decant which we will do. Drink from 2018 till 2036. 92+
Already starting to open up with some more dark berries on the nose. Also some good spices coming through on the palate. — 7 years ago
This is one of the best old cabs I have had In a long time. Tried to coravin but cork wasn't up@to snuff Popped it and it was singing. Red cherry and earth. This is the wine that made me fall in love with wine in the 1985 vintage. I should@go back on this list — 8 years ago
First night stand (with my coravin).
This was my first love (in the wine world) shortly after popping my wine-cherry. But didn't appreciate it to its fullest till now. Maybe it just aged well, maybe my awareness of all the different characteristics got better...in any case, I fell in love all over again...
Nose: Perfectly ripe blackberries and deep ruby cherries. Nice baking spices. The 2012 Faust smells like a $5-bottle in comparison (even though it cost about the same price the times that I became proud owners of both, especially with this particular bottle back when I was a poor graduating college student). Maybe that's how 9 years of experience affects your maturity...maybe I just need to drink more wine and edumacate myself, which I don't mind.
Tongue/mouth: Even though it's 12 years old, the tannins hold on for dear life to your taste buds (hasn't really incorporated itself to the rest of the nicely developed parts of its body). Drink with something fatty (like my short rib I happened to have). Then you can really enjoy the berriness of the wine.
I'm just so purely happy that I can enjoy a taste of it without the guilt of having to commit to it fully and leave it [the bottle] feeling empty. Thank you, Cory. — 9 years ago
Thank you coravin! Couldn't afford a bottle like this but got to taste. Outstanding! Black cherry with some smokiness. Great length, very powerful. Best bouquet I've ever experienced. Hope to drink again some day. — 10 years ago
