There's a great video on YT on what a Saison is. In short, it's a farmhouse ale (pale or sometimes red) that was historically served to farm workers as a clean source of hydration. Without any distinctive characters and lower in alcohol then, the "Saison" only really gained it's signature when the house in question came into the equation. Also, based on my research, the checkered "Vielle Provision" yellow labels are the export labels.
As it was here, the Dupont Brewery's Saison is generally cloudy, very carbonated via bottle conditioning, zesty and spicy, bitter with a hint of sour, and a dry hoppy finish. For me, this is truly "The beer for all seasons" - the flavours are just so versatile. Perfect for a warm summer afternoon in the park, yet complex enough to pair with a 3-star dish. — 5 years ago
Dark cherry color. Nose of vanilla and dark fruit ( cherry). Very smooth finish with cherry plum. — 6 years ago
Light Sumatra coffee notes, with dark cocoa nib and baked red plum with a borderline persimmon coat on. A drop of night blooming jasmine surfacing briefly and African violet, and a fat lily thickness. There are baked cherries and a smoky paprika, too. Black cherry, that coils dustily into a toasty oak and resin dappled raspberry and roobios bitterness and fine grained tannins. #brunello #poggiocastellare #PianBossolino #italianwines #montalchino #Tuscany #riserva #wineallyouwant — 8 years ago
Best chardy I have had in a long time. — 9 years ago
Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, strawberry, and sweet florals. On the palate, cherry, oak and vanilla dominate and there is a very long finish with these flavors lingering. Medium body with ripping tannins. 2012 vintage. — 10 years ago
I'm really new to the wine thing, but I picked this up by store recommendation, and I'm really enjoying it. Can I use "juicy" to describe wine? If so, I'm going to. — 4 years ago
It’s no wonder Gewurztraminer is one of the four noble grape varieties in Alsace, France. 👏👏👏 It’s uniquely expressive, perfumed, rich, and oily with youthful and pronounced aromas 👃 of lychee, açaí, papaya, mango, pineapple, also sweet spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and rose, stargazer lily, elderflower, and wet stone. 🤩🤩🤩
👁 This wine is deep gold. 👄 It’s dry with a modicum of residual sugar. It has medium acidity, a medium(+) body, medium alcohol, and pronounced flavors, consistent with the nose, including notes of lychee, açaí, papaya, mango, pineapple, also sweet spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and rose, stargazer lily, elderflower, and wet stone. The finish is medium(+).
We’ve paired this wine with grilled vegan brats and roasted zucchini.

Cheers to it almost being the weekend(?)! — 5 years ago

Cotton candy, marshmallow, white lily, lemon curd, tangerine, tart strawberry, minerality, slightly white pepper. Elevated acidity, medium intensity, medium finish. — 6 years ago
Wishing I had more. — 10 years ago
2006 vintage. Fairly intense Rose sparkler that stood up to good ol fashioned checkered-tablecloth Italian food. Crushed that Parmignano — 10 years ago

Wine Dad's . Green pear, fresh cut apple, lime, honeydew melon, mineral, then opens to light wood, then more citrus/Meyer lemon blossom, and lily/perfume as it warms. Rounded creaminess on the palate yet some nice mineral/stone as well. Long dry calcium finish. Really good Pinot Blanc. — 4 years ago
Interesting. Very effervescent initially. Cloudy, unfiltered appearance and flavor profile definitely has some yeast / witbier to it in addition to lemon, pear cider, white flowers and some spice. I wouldn’t call it classic Alsatian Riesling but solid addition to the T-day table — 5 years ago

Bright yellow. Ripe orchard and tropical fruit aromas are complicated by suggestions of lemon pith and honey. Smooth and fleshy in style, showing good depth to the juicy pear nectar, pineapple and melon flavors. Tightens up slowly on a long, silky finish that echoes the honey note. The flagship wine from Burn Cottage, a Central Otago, New Zealand producer focused on Pinot Noir. Husband and wife owners Dianne & Marquis Sauvage sought out Ted Lemon of Littorai, and SF Chronicle's winemaker of the year for 2010 (Jon Bonné: "The simple version of Ted Lemon's story: Young American goes to Burgundy. Becomes first American to run a Burgundian wine estate. Comes back and stays true to Pinot's motherland."). Lemon oversaw the planting of the vineyards, along with all aspects of vineyard management and winemaking, chief of which being Biodynamic from inception. The label is a derivative of a 1795 fairy tale called “The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily” which represents the ideal intersection of people and the land reflected in Biodynamics. Black cherry, citrus, and lavender pastille, with some secondary loam and herbs. — 8 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of 37% Roussanne, 35% Grenache Blanc and 28% Viognier, pale to medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruits, blossoms and floral spice. On the palate flavors of apple, melon and citrus zest with notes of honeysuckle and perfume spice. Medium+ finish, nice mouthfeel, good balance with acidity ending with fruit, floral notes and wet mineral character, very nice! — 4 years ago
