Light Sumatra coffee notes, with dark cocoa nib and baked red plum with a borderline persimmon coat on. A drop of night blooming jasmine surfacing briefly and African violet, and a fat lily thickness. There are baked cherries and a smoky paprika, too. Splendid KS #rioja #riserva. Give it a little time in the glass for the new American oak to blow off. Then earthy dark fruit, underbrush, leather, mushrooms aromas waft out. Peppery spicy on the front palate, firm tension, mouth-swaddling generous tannins and a touch of pepper on the long finish. Classic #rioja #riserva - so much forest floor, earth, leather on the nose, medium light body, features typically shy fruit and backbone of acidity. Tannins are light.
