Prachtige Sauternes. — a year ago
Half bottle. Lovely gold color. Different nose from most Sauternes I’ve had, and really enjoyed it. It had more brown sugar and herbal tones to it. Wine was lighter than expected but very clean, which was honestly nice especially with the great texture it had. Orange, pineapple, and peach dominate. Solid finish. — 6 years ago
Golden raisins, boytaris funk, dried pineapple. On the lighter side for Sauternes, but super enjoyable. Tropical and candied lemon. — 8 years ago
So much here to enjoy. Very very nice and changed so much as dessert was being consumed. Honey and pear with a tartness of passion fruit. — 9 years ago

Beautiful aromas, as honey, gold raisin, pear, flowers. Sweet and acid, flavors of honey, lemon, golden raisin, plum. Pleasant long finish. Enjoyable! — 11 years ago
Trop bon! Très équilibré, excellent, notes de poires? — 13 years ago
2016. Our clean out the fridge charcuterie dinner. Blue cheese, apples, figs, prunes, walnuts all paired well with this unctuous wine as expected. We love Sauternes with Foie, but we didn’t have any on hand 😏, but we did have the end of a chub of good braunschweiger which went really well too. — 8 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 1981 pours an amber color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing (still!) with notes of ripe apricots, orange peel, honeysuckle, marmalade, candied nuts and crushed rock. On the palate, the wine is sweet with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This bottle of the 1981 seems evergreen considering the way it showed today. Drink now through 2081?? — 9 months ago

Closed fruity/ mineral nose. Palate at first closed, even dilute; then stronger white fruit, good acid, sturdy minerals; improves after an hour. Then fruit (citrus/ stone fruit/ star fruit) and saline minerals; finishes with star fruit, a bit of oak, a hint of anise. Might expect more development in a few years. — 4 years ago
Pale gold color and a restrained nose showing a bit of pineapple, guava and honey but just lacking sufficient apricot and caramel to give it real botrtis character. Nice but a bit lacking — 8 years ago
Very good for 2012 . Quite surprised! — 9 years ago
Stunning Sauternes. Marzipan, honey, nuts, rich texture, acidity. Drinking beautifully now. — 10 years ago

Drank with blueberry cheesecake at broken bow with the smiths. Really light but excellent. Not cloying at all. Lighter than other d’Arche, but really like with the cheesecake. — 7 months ago
