2023, 30 min in with a medium rare steak: great addition. Fine balance matching the subtle tenderness of the meat. Enjoying it. — 6 months ago
Pretty darn close to old school Napa. — 2 years ago
Very yum for $17 at Schneider's — 4 years ago
Tastes like subtle red berries, flinty and terroir. Rated 92 by James Suckling. Soft tannins - not hearty but not as berry flavored as other Garnacha wines. — 5 years ago
It’s time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. Here is a nice one from Sonoma County, California.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose with black currants, cherries, plums, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, earth and light vegetables.
Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, spices, chocolates, tobacco, peppercorn, earth, green tea, vegetables and graphite.
Medium-plus on the finish with fine-grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 7-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon from a Double Magnum is a nice surprise. Very tasty and easy to drink.
Well balanced with nice complexity. Spicy with a nice mouthfeel.
Needs a full hour to open up properly. I used 4 decanters.
After 2 hours of airtime, it drinks like a Left Bank Bordeaux. Interesting stuff.
Could continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Haven’t had in 6 months and it was closed then but wow the nose is wide open now. Gorgeous citrus, apricot, herbs and stones. Really aromatic and very compelling. Palate is very 21 with just “wake you up” acids, a chewy density, and maybe 70% mineral and 30% fruit. So pure and what a finish. This is much more open than in January. Unreal finish. Almost 2 minutes. Wow this is tangy, super juicy and ultra clean. What an amazing finish. Just gorgeous. — 5 months ago
Floral, honeysuckle, stone fruit, hits of tropical fruit, touch of oxidation. Long finish, med acid — 8 months ago
Has been a little over a year and wanted to check in. Gorgeous herbal nose and some just ripe apricot. Lifting minerals. Floral. Citrus. Just gorgeous. Really open. Wow. Palate is a grapefruit and citrus explosion. Wonderful purity and freshness. So delicate yet very powerful and deep. So tense and structured. Wonderful dry extract. Müllen at his best here. Nimble and powerful. With years to go. Such nice sappy citrus and apricot on the finish. — 5 years ago

A bit pricey, yet what is not in Burgundy. Austere at first, then open to strawberry candy, a hint of farm, elegant, fine acid, wet leaves, young. — a year ago
I tasted the 1982 Lynch-Bages twice within a month, both at a private dinner in London and at the château, from bottle and double-magnum on separate occasions. Both vindicate an exceptionally fine 1982, perhaps a bit overlooked in a vintage full of stars. Curiously, the bottle in Bordeaux does not fully deliver the mesmerizing freshness and energy compared to the bottle in London: pencil-lead-tinged black fruit intermixed with clove and freshly-rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, perhaps just a little austere compared to its peers. Yet, indeed, the bottle in London exudes class and composure with a detailed, mineral-driven vintage belying that year's unseasonably warm period. Superb. Tasted both in London at a private dinner and at the château. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2023) — 2 years ago
Really solid offering from Beaune. Still a hint tight but nothing a long decant will not solve. Nice acidity and hint of cherry showing through what I believe to be oak. Hubba! — 6 years ago

WOW!!!! 2017 Chateau Gloria Saint-Julien , Domaines MARTIN. - Bordeaux France!!!!!!! I have finally found an exceptional bordeaux that rocks my taste buds! The color is dark burgundy. The legs are long and slow. On the nose, there’s lots of rhubarb pie and violets! My initial pallet is tantalized with explosions of blueberries, boysenberries, cherries, and chocolate. The mid pallet quickly resolves into a velvety, slightly buttered texture. Then there is a dive straight to the finish with lots of earthy oak and cigar box with a very moderately dry finish. . This is a good one!!!!!! We purchased this in Ireland and brought it home to the USA. Unfortunately, we only bought one bottle which is already halfway gone and I’m sure as you’re reading this, it will be completely gone. — 5 months ago
