Château Haut Moulin

Château Cantemerle

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 1989

From 750ml with a couple hours of air, it’s showing bell pepper and ripe currant fruit with just a hint of leather, knit together by lovely acidity. At peak and excellent but with plenty of life remaining. — 24 days ago

Château Smith Haut Lafitte

Grand Cru Classé de Graves Red Bordeaux Blend

Birth year tastings, evening 4.
Cherries, licorice, ink, plums, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh and tart notes, graphite, well-balanced, still youthful, bay leaf and ‘trekdrop’ on the finish. Grape seed bitters. Seemed completely ready to enjoy after popping the bottle, but a few hours later it fully blossomed! Coffee grind, tobacco, and all of the impressions above blended together in a gorgeous way. So I’d say this has just hit the start of it’s drinking window.

@Peter van den Besselaar, I’ve purchased a few of these (mostly 2011, 2015), for some reason in California they don’t sell through at full retail pricing, and I can grab a few at 2/3 retail, or less, and I’ve always enjoyed them.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 1998

+1 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A splendid medium dark ruby red color with bricking. On the nose: Tantalizing perfumed notes of stewed plum/cherry, worn leather, smoke, forest floor, stewed meat, cedar, eucalyptus. Taste: creamy, elegant, with power and depth wine...plum, currants, smokey earth, graphite, saline, dusty crushed gravel, tobacco leaf, and a nice medium plus finish. YUM!! — 15 days ago

Château Lanessan

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Lovely now with a great glass filling nose. Fresh an vibrant on the palate, juicy red fruits, cedar, smoke and cigar boxes. Delicate now after 16 years but far from over the hill. Love this wine and an incredible value. — 23 days ago

It can definitely handle this extra time pretty well. This wine has been nice and ready to go for a decade now but I think blossoms at the moment when your into the tertiary palate.

Château Smith Haut Lafitte

Pessac-Léognan Blanc White Bordeaux Blend 2020

Pop and pour. A splendid light straw color. On the nose: subtle notes of lemon, grass, Asian pear, brioche. Taste: lean, chalky wine with lemon, grapefruit, minerals, and a sour lime finish. Works with all the fresh fish tonight. — a month ago
