2017 vintage. As I just started to work at the Cave d'Arcins ( please reach out if you visit the Médoc !), I will get even more exposure to the Castel wines from their own properties, many of which I've enjoyed in the past. Château d'Arcins has been a long time favourite value wine. The 2017 is ready to drink, in a somewhat lighter style compared to the best vintages. While not as refined as the 2022 and 2019, it's still offering a bang for the buck at 13 euros. Give it 15 minutes to breathe, and enjoy a classic Haut-Médoc with a rustic old school feel about it in this vintage. A nice food wine. Abv. 13%. — 5 days ago

very pleasant, elegant, all kinds of cherry, raspberry and red currant on nose, some red florals, spice and an herbal note. great varietal typicity w/out carbonics - legit, classic style, has many more years ahead, mild tannins and decent acidity make this versatile for food options — a month ago

Medium ruby , quite light garnet rim . Lightly herbal on the nose , with grafite , cool cassis , some redcurrant , red plum and violet . On the palate quite spicy and more red fruited , red currant , light cassis , red plum , grafite and tobacco touches . Fresh acidity and medium grippy tannin , with a grafite , cool redcurrant , light cassis finish of reasonable length . Quite light in style , a little green , rustic but refreshing and enjoyable. Don’t see this being particularly long lived but drink from now and over the next 10 plus years . — 15 days ago

Almost 40 years and its still in good shape. Thats a wine that drinks well after 8 to 10 years and might last 50+ in the better vintages. Does not have the complexity of grand cru wines but there is little if anything you can buy in Bordeaux at this QPR. — 6 months ago

This was quite pleasant. While a bit too young, this opened up to a lovely wine full of fitness and structure. Black olive and green pepper dominated this young wine with cassis and strong tannins id wait 5-7 uearsto try again. — 15 hours ago
