Super - green apple, minerals, dry and some honey finish — 3 years ago
Contrary to my last note, this IS my last bottle of 2 dozen. Mid Ruby in colour. Dark ripe cherries with a little pepper on both nose and palate. Can see why this wine has won 13 Trophies on the Australian Show Circuit including 5 at Royal Sydney. Ridiculous value at $22 or less. So easy to drink. Made by French winemaker Celine Rousseau in the cool climate Hilltops District near Young NSW. Wish I had more. — 4 years ago
Such pretty, gulpable Pinot fruit. Very pure, ripe cherries with just a hint of sap, velvety and evanescent in the mouth at first, but getting clingy, deeper, longer, and earthier with air. Delightful with lighter dishes or just to rehydrate after a workout (doing both duties for me tonight!) — 5 months ago
This actually ended up being a really interesting Thanksgiving wine. 40% Gamay, 40% Chardonnay, and 20% Mondeuse. It ends the white or red question with a “How about both?” Light, high acid. Citrus, cranberry. Simple, but highly drinkable. Allows the food and company to take center stage. — 3 years ago
Lighting in a bottle!!! Not just a reference to the raw acid and kinetic energy of this wine but also the insanity/ingenuity of the man behind it: the kind of brilliant lunatic who makes a 100% Pinot Blanc champagne (aged on the lees in amphora and neutral oak) and succeeds. A lesser grape, ha! Pristine and powerful with a finish that, like Celine Dion’s heart, goes on and on. Could’ve probably used some more time in bottle to unwind, but to hell with it, it was my birthday and I have no regrets. Paired with fried chicken. — 4 years ago
Just as good as the Chablis. Worth getting again! I think we got it at Gordon’s in Waltham. — a year ago
No hint of oak or butter yet delicious without them. Smooth and complex. — 3 years ago
