After 10 years amazing savoury and vivid red fruit. Just fantastic. — 5 months ago

98 was not a great vintage and why Giacosa bottled the SS as a red label has long been a bit of a mystery. There’s a lot in this wine to like, and no reason to leave it sitting in the cellar. Fully mature, ample bricking, softer but still lively fruit, rich mouthfeel with classic sous bois, a bit of iron, red berry and herbal overlay, and soft maybe a bit overripe tannin. Lovely, but not near Giacosa’s most memorable SSRs. — a month ago

Interesting palette not sure I ever tasted such an herbal wine before. Nose: cherry, orange? Taste: cherry, rhubarb, unidentified herb? Definitely a new try but very interesting and I did enjoy. — 4 months ago
Smooth, dry, medium body, lemon accents, paired very well with linguine à la vongele. — 6 months ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of 50% Malbec, 24% Merlot, 11% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe berry fruits floral and spicy herbs. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum fruit with spicy herb, cacao and toasty oak. Fine soft tannins, well balanced, good acidity, medium+ finish, almost creamy, ending with fruit and oak. Nice value! — 2 days ago
