We popped and poured this wine. It was most enjoyed with our dinner. It probably will be even better it you waited but hey I wanted to give it a try. Luckily I have another bottle. — 7 months ago

For me at it’s peak. Nice fruits like bramble dark cherries and plum, combined with meaty tones, leather and some umami. — 6 months ago
This is a great value ! Less than 15 euro in equivalent local currency. The nose is intense. There is a bit of funk, cherry, earth, leather, oak, coconut, meat juice. It's pretty intense and exciting. The palate is long, bright, broad and thick. It's not very subtle but it's very well made and quite structured and full-bodied. The mouthfeel is soft and silky at first, with cherry and savoury notes at first. There is a bit of a layer, some thick matter on the sides, and it turns into a massive wall which gives way to a strong drying layer all over the finish which is fruity, savoury, a bit bitter, drying and quite long. It's very good stuff considering the pricetag. Need to buy more. — 6 months ago
Writing about this wine because of the uniqueness of the bouquet on the nose. the dominating profile is of decayed flowers. Even the fruit that shines through comes in through that. it smells like walking through a cemetery in europe, quite pleasant if you forgive the morbid analogy. Wet decaying red flowers, and petrocore. Then it gives way to pleasant grippy and rustic tannins on the palate. — a month ago

The most amazing house wine you could probably buy! a Ribera del Duero super good value to have just for when friends come over or a midweek dinner. Correct. #riberadelduero #spain #tempranillo — 3 months ago

Let’s get one thing clear right away: this was more about checking in on the early days of a wine that has a history of lasting for decades. Having that out of the way, it’s fun to check in on great wines in their youth, when you get the opportunity. Splash decanted sometime before service, no formal notes. The 2016 “Unico” is already showing its quality with abundant, beautifully ripened fruit and effortless elegance. That being said, having some experience with properly aged Unico, the better days (to my palate) are well ahead. Drink now if you have multiple bottles and can’t help yourself. Give it some air at least. Otherwise, better after 2036 and through 2076, probably. — 3 days ago
