Whoa, what a sublime presentation. Nose displays tobacco leaves, ripe cherries and a dusting of cedar.
Palate is regal - the definition of smooth. Raspberries everywhere. Immature tannins suggest that this should be left for a while. Nice weight and texture leads into a smooth maple syrup finish. Spice box also coming thru after exposure to air. Thank you, Rick.

Stunning, g led GSM, you'd think it was 100%, fresh, layered, apparently no oak but ... I almost don't believe it. — 3 years ago
Outstanding value at $16. Good body and acidity with floral notes. — 5 months ago
A special project wine for the US and China marketplace. This is a 100% Shiraz with a medium-bodied style, ripe and very generous with plenty full flavors of mulberry, ripe blackberry, mocha and hints of blackforrest chocolate cake. It has a noticeable freshness on the palate which and a smooth cocoa powder finish, quite appealing to those who are looking for ready to go Shiraz from Australia. — 7 months ago
Amazing wine, good balance, great taste. — 9 months ago
Purchased from Marion Hotel and Cellars near Adelaide, we enjoyed this in American River on Kangaroo Island. This full-bodied Shiraz evolved beautifully over the evening, revealing layers of dark berries, pepper, tobacco, Australian bark and earth, and a hint of anise, with a spicy finish. Balanced and complex, it earned full bonus points for how much we enjoyed it. A great wine, albeit with a screw cap. — 10 months ago
I haven’t had this wine since the late 2000’s.
As good as I remember it.

1hr+ decant and could have used more. Dark red color. Interesting nose with metallic, medicinal tones that tingled my nose. Wine has massive strawberry and cassis; and is sweeter than I was expecting. Very concentrated. The tannins reduce with ample air and the spicy aspects dissipate with time as well making it more approachable. Medium finish. — 5 years ago

Dark cherry red with purple edge. Chocolate nuance. Black pepper felt my deep throat and nose. Blueberry. Black currant and berry. Concentration. Nutmeg, clove. Sweet and spicy. Silky tannin. The Struie Torbreck 22 @8305, Toscan, 250405-250813 — 7 months ago
Everything about this wine is DARK. Deep ruby/purple color bordering on black. Aromas of black and blue fruit, Asian spices and coffee. Flavors of cooked black berry/plum/currant fruit, bakers chocolate, tar and espresso. Hint of black pepper on the long, lingering and silky finish. Extremely concentrated with lively acidity. Tannins are firm but in harmony. This is a wine you quickly take notice of. Probably at (or just past) its peak. Thanks for the wonderful gift, Petey P! — 8 months ago
Duty free purchase. Very nice — 9 months ago
Decant this bottle for about an hour or two ….and Bachman-Turner Overdrive is showing up!! Baby, You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet. It just suddenly erupts with vibrant spicy red fruit, loaded with shrapnel of sharp, penetrating tannins that blow you to a finish and sticks you with a perfect landing. Wow, what an experience 🥰 — 2 years ago

Woodcutter is entry level for Torbreck. For just under $20, a very good Shiraz for the money.
This is young and full throttle. Alcohol seems hotter than 15%. But their reds need time.
Lots of ripe; mulberries, blackberries to pie, gooseberries, black raspberries & dark candied black cherries. Anise into black licorice, sweet tarriness, black ground pepper, fresh tobacco, leather, barrel shavings, dark spice, vanilla, clove, nutmeg, dry crushed rocks, red flowers, lavender, violets, full round acidity and nicely balanced, big tensioned, well structured, lush, elegant, well polished finish that lasts 90 seconds and falls on spice and pleasant earthiness.
It needs to shed its baby fat. Let rest another 3-5 years before opening. In Australian Shiraz hard to beat at this price point. — 5 months ago
