Fully mature. Fine, integrated tannins. Beautiful pure fruit profile with some acid, and tannin to give structure. Lots of tertiary - leather, forest floor, earth, umami, tobacco. Grip. Long. Right in the sweet spot. — 5 months ago
Slightly cloudy copper colour . Quite toasty coffee notes at the beginning . Slightly dried fruits, orange rind . On the palate quite round and generous , dried fruits , high acidity and extract , orange rind . Quite long and herbal , with some dried red fruits , roast almonds . This is intense and very interesting , will still age pretty well . Drink now and over the next 5 years. — 5 months ago
Fun wine - grapefruit, pear, hint of marzipan and quince on the nose. Nice back bone of acidity with balance fruit and spice. — 7 months ago
Super interesting. Not as acidic and complex. Beautiful on the nose. Straddling between orange and white. — 8 months ago

Always an amazing wine — 5 months ago
Decanted about 30 minutes prior to service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2007 pours a deep ruby color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some signs of light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with powerful notes of ripe red and dark fruits: brambles, kirsch, plum, tobacco, purple flowers, green bell pepper, leather, cocoa, and earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is positively delightful right now and there are little signs of slowing down. Drink now through 2037. — 5 months ago
Stellar Barolo. Definitely of the new school, lighter color, lightly structured, but radiant fruit in a refined style. Decanted 2hrs. Perfect pairing for veal/osso buco, maybe less so for a roast. Some debate whether more age would refine the fruit further or cause it to dissipate. No idea but have two more so can experiment! Made me want to get on an overnight to Piedmont tonight. — 6 months ago
2019 Took some time to open but good nose and ruby colour excellent structure in mouth with good balance of berry flavours acidity and tannins
Had at a new Italian restaurant called Civico 47 which used to be Lucio’s for 35 odd years, old Lucio would be happy it’s still a high quality Italian restaurant.Just announced as WS wine no. 24 in 2024 top 100 — 8 months ago
2020 vintage. Excellent concentration. Medium body with a lengthy, deliciously dry, finish. Looking to taste through the rest of this producer's offerings. This particular wine a little pricey and won't be able to move it but really enjoyed. 04.09.25. — 3 months ago
Light on the nose and medium body finish / very delicate flavor but rich notes of maybe vanilla, definitely black cherry, leather, hints of earthy tones. Delicious — 4 months ago
Wine prices in Tokyo tend to be expensive but this was about $200 AUD. Probably sounds dear but when you’re here that’s not too bad. Medium crimson in colour. Just medium bodied - red fruited with cherry, strawberry and earthy silty notes. On the palate went well with a Grade 4 Waygu steak which was very expensive but it was a good match. All very satisfying. From a good vintage in Piedmont. The photo is from the Delectable library but the vintage we had was 2016. — 5 months ago
