First of a few posts to come this evening. Out on a wine and steak adventure with 3 other old guys. This one a very good start, but a little past it's prime. Some of the fruit got lost. Should have drunk a couple of years ago. — 9 years ago
briny, white flowers, green apple skin, lemon zest, grapefruit. High acid and great balance. — 9 years ago

We were lucky to have probably the benchmark for the Roussanne grape about a month ago with the Chateau Beaucastel. This Yangarra was not as stone fruit fleshy as the old vine Beaucastel. Skinnsy notes from being fermented in ceramic eggs Two thirds fermented on skins with extended contact; one third fermented without skins. A full bodied white on the palate with notes of Quince with some viscosity and low acid finishing with some bitterness from those skins which is good. Grows on you with each sip. In summary a very good new world Roussanne. Had my last one 57 weeks later on 29/6/22 with similar notes although there was a strange unidentifiable note on the palate. Nutty. — 5 years ago
2012v. Petrol and wax on the nose. On the palette, there's a wash of sweet yellow apple and tangy lemon lime. Slight petrol on the finish but it's a clean ending. Slightly sweet, decent acidity, and a nice body in the mouth makes for a versatile and easy drinking wine. — 9 years ago
Pale gold, fresh grassy nose with no after taste. Great champagne under $20 with discount coupon and shipping. — 9 years ago

Nutty, crisp. Very tasty. — 10 years ago
Slightly oxidative. But compelling nonetheless. — 11 years ago
Elegant, red cherry candy. Chambolle Musigny-like. — 11 years ago
2008. The purest vougeot I ve encountered so far. Less expressive organic strawberry nose. No black fruit detected. Palate is a drawback due to the vintage? Watery at mid palate, stingy at the back but really vivid. A fantastic vougeot. Buy. — 12 years ago

Really pretty blend. Musty and mineral-y. Not too fruity, subtle tannins. Very nice. — 5 years ago
This was bought for my birthday about a month ago and was opened last night. Super easy drinking Émilion, enjoyed so much that some went into last night's ragù and the bottle finished off! — 9 years ago
Fairly pale color, high citrus as is to be expected, fairly well rounded. — 9 years ago
The nose is like sniffing a regular great pinot noir glass standing in a bouqet of flowers; the perfume is remarkable, sweet and delicate; taste is equally refined, structure is solid - medium acids and silky but tangible tannins - and the fruity lighly-oaked and -tannic finish leaves me wanting more. — 10 years ago
Not exactly closed but definitely still reluctant to unleash its full expression. The complexity is there but hiding. Good length and balance. 14 euros by the glass at Ma Cuisine. (The first glass, from a previously-opened bottle, didn't show well. Glad we didn't have to pay for both.) — 10 years ago

was on the thin side at first but evolved over an hour or two. last glass was heavenly- nice nose and fruit really became expressive. I would let breath in glass for a while. — 11 years ago
Pleasant surprise! Big win.
