Les Vins de Vienne (Cuilleron Gaillard Villard)

La Chambée Condrieu Viognier 2022

This is a balanced, elegant Condrieu. It’s got rich, juice-oozing ripe fruit (only slightly tropical) on the nose, but not in an over-the-top way. There’s also a lightly smoky minerality. Soft and richly flavored in the mouth, but, again, somehow in a balanced way. Acids a little in the low side but heck, it’s Viognier. In a word, elegant. — 7 days ago

Les Barcillants Cornas Syrah 2019

Vintage 2019 | Walking on a barnyard, vanilla, stinky (positive!). Plums. Character. Good acidity, pleasant bitters. Balanced. Spices, cherries. As always tasted blind. In my notes: screames for a cheese. — 8 months ago

Aigle les Murailles Chasselas 2018

2018 vintage of my favorite Swiss grocery store wine (33% off at Coop!). Unique grape/region, mild, low acidity, bit of fizz. This time with saffron risotto and balsamic chicken cutlets. Merry Christmas Eve eve 😜 — 7 years ago

Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2014

Starting to oxidize. The curse of this producer. The noise and color a little dark, but the palate is still vivacious and rich and dynamic. Drink up — 2 months ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2019

Delicious wine from my brother. Thanks. Deep purple, lot going on here. It was a dinner party so I only got a glass and a half. :(. Excellent with beef stew and potatoes. — 8 months ago

The Paul Pernot wines have always underwhelmed me. Pity.

Love this producer - CM so well made. Cream and butterscotch, some Carmel, of course there’s wonderful citrus on top. Love trying various vintages of this. Bravo — 7 years ago
