Nursed this bottle over four hours to see how it developed. Flavors are mostly black cherry and red plum fruit leather. Some black pepper character as well. Seed tannins are dominant. The overall impression is age it longer, or decant it for longer than four hours. — 9 months ago
Black cherry, raspberry preserves, cassis, mossy earth, licorice and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins. — 2 years ago
We had the 2021 Vintage on 6/13-14/25. An excellent representation of a good SLH PN. Scents and tastes of black cherry, black raspberry, cinnamon and baking spices. Well balanced, fruit forward. Very good and consistent over many years — 6 days ago
Hailing from one of the premier sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands, planted in 1996, the 2022 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is flat-out gorgeous. Beautifully rendered, it boasts generous fruit density, crystal-clear delineation of flavors and bracing structure. Fully destemmed, the 2022 finishes with a ton of persistence in its dark berry flavors, even darker cherry, black licorice and black sage. The 2022 leaves behind a fine web of powdery tannins, neatly wrapped up with a little bow on top, concentrated, effusive, and ready to rock. What a complete package. This may be the red wine of the vintage in the SLH. (Billy Norris, Vinous, August 2024)

Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice, aged for 16 months on French oak, 58% new, vineyard planted in 1991. On the palate concentrated flavors of strawberry and black cherry with orange citrus, herbs, vanilla and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, floral, spice and oaky tones. Very Nice! Will age! — 4 months ago
Incredibly rich but still a delicious Pinot. Herbal aromas of tarragon and spice surround the core of stewed strawberries and black cherry. Palate is dense with creamy tannins and quite a bit of new oak is present. Vanilla, Cherry, and cola on the 30+ second finish. I’ll wait another couple years to open the next one. — 2 years ago

Cote-Rotie comes to The Yorkville Highlands!
N: I opened and let air for 2,hrs while I went about a lamb pulao.
The nose is a bit reticent, only hinting at its black/red core. As it airs out, lots of black plums, pepper, and some treacle.
P: yea that delivers the tarry black/red wonderful tactileness*, coats your palate deliciously like you may think there’s a bottom. Fresh beam of acidity keeps things fresh. Best bottle so far. Coal tar.
Thanks @FirstBottleWines
Day 2: More open knit, some cocoa, red moves into black. Acidity still persistent. — 3 years ago
