Nice, young, tight knit. Light on Franc herbaceousness, but firm and fine in its structure. Best in 1-5 years from now. — 5 months ago
Color: actually copper like, amber, orange like the setting sun
Aroma: light light apricot, a bit of brown sugar
Tasting Notes: super well balanced, honey, caramel, stone fruit (apricot)
Texture: slight twirl of tannins and acidity but in a nice congruence, a nice balance , bouncy texture, like drinking clouds of sunset — mouthwatering — a year ago
We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy. This is a very solid Sauvignon Blanc! Crisp. Fresh. Light lemon. Balanced acidity. — 6 months ago
Bright & light. Weird Floral greens. Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Dornfelder/////////////
A day later the fruit is near perfect. Not sure what blew off, but now totally balanced. — 3 years ago
Riesling, not Gewurtztraminer. Very good Riesling from the finger lakes - Eli’s find. @Eli Barton — 6 months ago
Clear deep gold. Abundant, genie-like nose of baked apple and birch. Medium palate confirms the nose -- the apple is green -- with a hint of ripe pear and mineral notes with solid, medium-plus acidity tempered by the barrel treatment. The Classique draws from the top vineyards around lower Seneca Lake, and the result is among the best the Finger Lakes has to offer. Excellent all-around white for rich seafood, pork, or poultry dishes, and especially the Thanksgiving table. Drink now 2021 through 2026. — 2 years ago
2019 | Chardonnay
Ravines Wine Cellars
Geneva, NY, USA
Always an interesting wine due to Morten's use of appasimento style for 1/5 of the grape harvest.
Honeycomb, dried lemon peel, ripe pineapple core; pineapple puree, lemon zest, butter, oxidized yellow apple peel; long finish, round, complete.

starting my first Dr Konstantin Frank lineup with his Finger Lanes Gewurztraminer. nose dominated by fresh lychee. getting some some tropical melon and lemon rind, and a little bit of saltwater. tropical is the theme for me. similar on the palate. a very nice win at a bargain price. — 4 years ago

Powerful for an American Riesling, showing lots of minerals and even a bit of petrol overlaying floral, lemon, and lime aromas. As dry as advertised. Not as heavy bodied as its overseas or Washington State counterparts, likely because of the cooler climate. — 3 months ago
