This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Los Olivos District in California.
Showing black fruits with pencil lead, dark chocolates, oak spices, licorice, vegetables, earth, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry, tangy and elegant on the palate.
Good by itself and better with food. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
A blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Cabernet Franc.

This drinks perfectly at 11 years old. Definitely Jura reminiscent. A bit tight at first, tart lemon and rind. Then toasted marshmallow and burnt sugar, then some funk. Just brilliant. — 6 years ago
Doug Margerum founded MWC in 2001, producing limited quantities of Rhône grape varietal wines.100% Viognier from 2 vineyards, aged for 8 months in neutral French oak barrels, with a small portion undergoing malolactic fermentation. Light straw with aromas of tropical fruits with hints of honey notes and sweet spice. On the palate ripe peach, apple and melon flavors with subtle notes of vanilla, well balance with acidity. Smooth lingering finish ending with a little minerality. Very nice! Tasting Sample! — 6 years ago

A very nice & well balanced Rhone Blend — 5 years ago
We snagged a bottle after a terrific tasting in Los Olivos and now I wish we grabbed two. This was just a great wine from a great vintage for the Santa Ynez Valley - an undercurrent of cooked meat ran throughout the sumptuous dark berry taste. Rounded out with espresso, spice, butterscotch sauce and perfectly calibrated tannins. — 5 years ago
Very powerful!!! First experience with a Paul Lato wine, but it won’t be my last. Very familiar flavor profile from the Los Olivos. Blast of blue and black fruits, acidity at medium at this point but still a pleasant tannic press on the long long finish. Still has many many years of life!! — 6 years ago
Drank with chilli. Big dry red. — 7 years ago
Loved thus Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp and smooth. Will definitely get this again on trip back to Los Olivos. — 4 years ago

Time for my #FridayCabernetfix. This week it's a nice Cabernet Franc from California.
Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Beautiful nose of black currants, cherries, dried figs, vanilla, cedar, licorice, spices, flowers, dark chocolates, black pepper and light earth.
Full-bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, cherries, sweet strawberries, black currants, raspberries, wood, spices, chocolates, tobacco, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

Drinking very nicely now. Showing medium complexity with a nice, soft mouthfeel.
Good by itself as a sipping wine.
