Delicious per usual. Last had 2 years ago and this is in a nice place. Perfect with skirt steak off the grill. A treat. — 12 days ago

Winemaker dinner at Nari. Fabulous and if not tied for WOTN it might win in some cases. — 14 days ago

Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Winemaker dinner at Nari. This was clearly young and tasted next to the 2011 missing the depth of maturity — 14 days ago

It’s just too young. The older 2011 version was excellent.

2011 would rate a 9.4/9.5

Castellare di Castellina

I Sodi di San Niccolò Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2020

Quite medium pale ruby rim, wide garnet rim . Spiced red cherries , quite reserved , and some herbal balsamic , saline hints. On the palate more of the slightly herbal , earthy red cherry , strawberry . Fine and refined , quite fresh acidity and gritty tannins . Good length Needs time but shows good promise and excellent balance . Come back in 5 years , will drink well for a further 5-10. At Vinous Icons NY, Pier 60 , Feb 2025 — 14 days ago
