No sediment, so I popped and poured. Explosive nose has super-deep, pure spicy blackberry Zin fruit. Purity of fruit is a hallmark (in my experience) of Ridge’s Dusi Ranch cuvée. There’s also a bit of clove from the American oak, but it’s pretty subtle. Great intensity of flavor in the mouth, with a soft, enveloping texture. It’s big, at 14.8%, but it’s balanced. And keeping things under 15 in Paso is challenging. Terrific wine. Yummo. — 7 months ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish/brick rim.
Fruit forward on the nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing sweet cherries, raspberries, blueberries, black currants, plums, chocolates, light oak, earth, cola, herbs, spices, light vanilla, licorice, peppercorn and tobacco leaf.
Nice tangy finish with soft tannins.
This 6-year-old Zinfandel blend from Sonoma County is drinking at its peak. Spicy and fruit forward. Elegant and juicy.
Great right out of the bottle, but even better after a few hours of air, when the complexity really comes to life.
The alcohol is very nicely integrated by now. Easy drinking and nicely balanced. A great sipping wine.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits, spice, oak and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plum and blackberry with toasty vanilla oak, pepper and cacao wrapped in lively acidity. Fine tannins, medium+ finish, good structure ending with fruit, cedar, spice and earthy tones. Good value! — 10 months ago
This is a pretty damn good fruit forward Zin. Full of lush dark red berries. — 2 years ago
Just tasted ‘18. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruit and floral spice, pure Caymus signature style, easy drinking, as always. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry, black cherry and currants with complex spice showing notes of cacao, cinnamon and rich vanilla oak. Fine soft tannins, nice mouthfeel, great balance with acidity, long finish, ending with notes of oak and mineral notes. Nice! — 5 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 Pagani Ranch pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart black and red fruits: mixed bramble fruit, black cherry, black pepper, red flowers, tobacco, warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Yum. — 5 months ago
Medium ruby garnet , narrow garnet rim . Quite deep spicy tobacco , cassis , redcurrant , grafite , smoky herbal notes on the nose. On the palate this is quite restrained and elegant , with a mix of red and dark fruits , cassis , blueberry , red currant , touch of menthol also . Good refreshing acidity and slightly gritty tannins , good length with grafite and tobacco stained finish . This is showing well and is probably at peak at the moment , no rush as it will stay here for another 8-10 years or so . — 8 months ago

🏅 Rating 93+/100 (4,35⭐)
Tasted from magnum.
Ruby color with tawny hue showing the age. First nose has a slight touch of iron. Fruit is ripe and sweet. Vegetable scent of tomato stems suggesting presence of Cabernet Sauvignon. Sandy tannins of Sangiovese. Amazing how bottle aging makes the wine so smooth and satin.
Mostly tertiary aromas, but very well holding the age and could last for at least 5 more years without any signs of decline
Elegant expression of famous Tignanello.
1981 was outshadowed by great 1982. It was 10th anniversary vintage and is considered a very fine one.
Key oenological data:
Average sugar content of grapes at harvest 21.00%
Average total acidity of the grapes 7.80%
Alcohol content after fermentation 13.00
Average fermentation temperature 28C
Length of fermentation 13 days
Acidity of wine after malo 5.90
Ageing in 225 litre barrels 20 months

Red raspberry and spicy, very youthful, fruit, outstanding acidity, whereas the 2020 from earlier seems ready, this wine needs 3-5 years to peak, long, lingering finish, outstanding Zin!! I can only imagine how fantastic the single vineyard 2023 Bedrock Zins will be in 5-7 years! — 7 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Better on Day 2. The 2023 Zinfandel pours a ruby/purple color with a magenta rim; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with notes of ripe and tart black, red and some blue fruits: black berries, black cherries, raspberries, fig, green herbs, a touch of rubber pool toy, black pepper, dry earth and some gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. From my experience, this is the most youthful expression of Rafanelli Zinfandel I can recall. Good, but to my palate this will probably be better after 2028. — 8 months ago
About half the fruit is from the family's own vineyards, aged in oak (10% new). Dark Ruby, purple edges with aromas of berry fruits, tangy herb, pepper and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and ripe cherry with black pepper spice, vanilla and earthy sweet herbs. Soft chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, dusty spice and earthy oak. Nice! — 9 months ago
Very hardy Zin. Would definitely recommend to all. Dark cherry and spice on the nose and great finish. — 2 years ago
