Tuesday the 26th of January was Australia Day and a public holiday. What better way to celebrate than Australia’s best fizz Arras Grand Vintage from Tasmania. Quite light lemon in colour. Very citrussy and mineral on the nose. 7 years on Lees showing in the complexity of the palate which still shows tension and refreshment. See previous notes for the 2007 which was slightly better and Champion Wine of the Royal Brisbane Show. — 4 years ago
scrambled my brain--really bright & tart-opens into some extremely SOFT&MELLOW fruit & floral moments--but not to worry--never loses the funk--definitely dirty 🍄 — 8 years ago

See 3 previous Delectable notes. This was my last bottle of the best new world Vermentino I’ve had. Green apple, medium acid. Grand Champion of the Toowoomba Wine Show in 2021 when I was a Judge. Quite delicious - more full bodied than any Italian Vermentino I’ve had. The palate is quite unctuous with mandarin and quince. Even though the winery is in Queensland on the Granite Belt, the fruit comes from the Mildura (NW Victoria) warm region. — 9 months ago
Fantastic depth of flavour. Top Class. Through the butterflied lamb on the BBQ and enjoy. — 4 years ago

Yeasty aroma; very much like a brioche or good challah. Fine bubbles, yeast, sweet grape must, and a barely perceptible Flint finish. Excellent! — 8 years ago
A rich Chablis that balances its aromatic and textural opulence with focused acid. Not a laser beam but a bright spotlight that illuminates. — 8 years ago
Bone dry. Wonderful nose. Flavors of peach and gooseberries. — 8 years ago
Lime and greengage in the nose. Refreshing with bright acid and salinity. Melon. A bit simple given the vineyard — 9 months ago

Bread dough! Apples! Big and round. Very nice for the price — 5 years ago
Had a bottle of this 2 years ago after it scooped the pool at the Royal Brisbane Wine Show. I can’t see why it got the accolades - an excellent Pinot Noir no doubt but not Champion Red of the Show. Colour of mid crimson with dark cherry. Initially on opening some oaky varnishy notes with stalkiness. On palate good intensity where the savouriness presides over the fruit dry cherry flavours. Will cellar. — 7 years ago
Nice acidity. Honey and some vanilla on the nose. Took it for an Alsatian Riesling in a blind tasting (potentially for its age) - had a hint of petrol on the back end of the palate and loads of fresh fruit - generally white fruits (white peach, etc). Definitely a revisit! — 8 years ago

The 2022 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru was half-aged in a 5-year-old barrel and half in stainless steel. It takes time to settle on the nose, showing ample yellow fruit infused with crushed stone and light lanolin aromas. The palate is well-balanced, with mango and peach on the entry. It leans more towards the tropical side, though undeniably balanced with a deft touch of ginger on the finish. I'm intrigued to see how this will age in bottle. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)
