Such an amazing expression of a variety outside it’s expected environment. Truly a fun wine to drink. — 6 years ago

Crisp, Dry, Acidic while being able to taste the terroir! Love it. — 7 years ago
Christmas Eve pre-dinner wine (there will be more). Loved it for a lighter evening warm up wine. 🎅 🎄 — 6 months ago
This is nice. Actually needed. Minute to open up. Awesome with Chinese takeout. There’s good acidity, strawberries, oranges, some saline, also a hint of baking spice. One of the best roses I’ve had from SB. — 9 months ago
A beautiful Syrah paired with Braised Beef Short Ribs — 5 years ago
Tasted blind, presented by Sue Bell. I picked Riesling, Australian and missed Porongurups WA. A brilliant Riesling made by Rob Diletti at Castle Rock WA. Lovely aromatics of Musk and Bath Talc. At 5 years the acid had settled and the citrus was going towards stone fruit. Really enjoyed this. — 5 years ago

See previous Delectable notes for Bellwether Montepulciano. Bellwether is based In Coonawarra but these grapes come from the warmer Riverland area perfectly suited to Monte like its homeland of Abruzzo in Italy. This had a youthful colour - fruit driven with minimal oak influence. Medium to full bodied showing plums and aniseed. Can be drunk now or experience short term cellaring. Barb and I loved having a hand in making this wine when we did vintage at Bellwether in 2021. — a year ago

Another great astor wines suggestion. I served chilled. Very cool label/bottle — 7 years ago
The 2016 Syrah Watch Hill Vineyard is dense, powerful and super-concentrated. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, menthol, licorice and spice notes are all amped up in this rich, beautifully resonant Syrah. Dollops of Viognier add brightness and floral top notes, but the Watch Hill remains a pretty big, yet nuanced, wine. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2018) — 8 years ago
