The 2016 Angélus is a total stunner. Despite its late bottling in September 2018, the 2016 is simply magnificent. Soaring aromatics and layers of bright, vibrant fruit are two of the main signatures in the 2016. The tannins, so often hard in young Angélus, are almost impossibly refined. Pomegranate, blood orange, raspberry jam, wild flowers and mocha are some of the many notes that race through the 2016. All the elements fall into place in a memorable, exquisite Saint-Émilion that is clearly one of the wines of the year. Don't miss it! (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2019) — 6 years ago
The 2014 Pichon Lalande has the edge over Pichon Baron a few months ago. It is a tight race but here Pichon Lalande edges it. It has a wonderful, complex, intense bouquet with blackberry, briary, graphite and mint – just a straight-down-the-line Pauillac with all the aristocratic flair you look for. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, layers of pure black fruit laced with graphite and mint. It is blessed with a satin-like texture, not a hair out of place from start to finish, with a long, persistent aftertaste that completes a fabulous wine for the vintage. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2018) — 7 years ago
@Shay Aldriedge My 1st Aonair Grenache that i was lucky enough to enjoy thanks to my bud Shay! My 1st bottle was corked and he was kind enough to send me a 2nd!! You are insane my friend! This one was firing on all cylinders and definitely game to drag race Grenache! I agree spot on with Shay’s previous post., definitely a Syrah nose and Grenache on the palate. Smoked bacon., cedar, a touch of spice and dark fruit. I dig it! I decanted for approximately 2 1/2 minutes prior to enjoying the 1st sip! I could smell the nose from arms length and could not resist. I’m guessing this will develop well over the next 1 hour. I love seeing the progression which is why I dove right into it. Thanks bud!! 👏👏👏👏👍👍👏👏👏. I have a few beauties heading your way tomorrow. — 8 years ago
GL Burg Parent tasting 2/8/17. Very masculine and firm and strong in structure and powerful. Long finish and strong notes of stones earth and dark red fruit. All 3 1er Pommard made exactly the same way. Interesting. Argillieres lightest and elegant. Like a race car. Chaponnieres like an Aston Martin. This like a Porche. — 8 years ago
Definitely smooth! Drinks like a blend with spicey notes. Almost thought it had a % of zin or Syrah. Loved it! Great with pizza! — 5 years ago
Beautiful dôle. Natural, earthy, elegant and complex. Pinot aromatics and Gamay sweet spices, good acidiy, well it's pure pleasure. Marie-Thérèse grows her fabulous vines up on the hills of Fully in Valais, she is one of the most iconic swiss "vigneronnes". In spite of the difficulty of working such a land, she follows the biodynamic philosophy and does an impressive work to produce world-class wines in a respectul way. This Dôle is very young and could be considered an "entry-level" red and yet it shows already all of its personality ! Paired well with a roast-beef from "race d'Hérens" beef, roast potatoes and coleslaw. — 5 years ago

Elegant nose. Well balanced. — 7 years ago
Tonight I found out why a white burgundy is so special. This is a 7 year old that is the most spectacular white wine I have enjoyed so far. Amazing citrus cranks up the incredible vibrant acidity to race toward a mineral laced crushed stone lengthy finish. My gratitude to this beautiful expression of what can be produced from a grape. — 8 years ago
Свежее, лёгкое, стройно скроенное, высококислотное, минеральное. Без выдержки в бочке. Айва, карамбола, белый персик, ракушка, мокрый камень. — 5 years ago
A race finishing congratulation to myself wine.

A clean nose of unsweetened blackberry jam with the faintest touch of vanilla.
Subtle fruits overlay each other, stacking. Honey crisp apple, dark berry fruit leather, pomegranate, Thai basil. Great balance within the fruit, acid, and oak. This is drinking very well right now. Yum. — 7 years ago
Last bottle of Kumeu 😢. For now. So bright and refreshing, this is easily a summer Char. Gives White Burg and Central Cali quite a race, especially for QPR. Especially love the mid-palette citrus zest. — 7 years ago
Lightning struck eucalyptus bark - what a nose!
Licorice, mint, basil. Tar, tobacco, burnt barrel. This is a wine that will always calm my pre race jitters. The vintage was amazing.
Salted boysenberry popsicle sticks end this wine with a long, long lasting finish. — 7 years ago
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, racy and explosive to the core. An exotic tapestry of plums, sweet black cherries, smoke, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and dark spices race across the palate. Ample and intense, the 2012 has more than enough depth to fill its broad-shouldered frame... — 8 years ago
