This was consumed at the same time as a Laherte Ultradition. Both more in a vinous style, but the Coulon is more rich, savory and powerful. Love both!

Normally equal parts meunier/Pinot noir/chard. Gold in the glass. Mousse certainly isn’t as powerful or as aggressive as the Laherte Ultradition, but it is more creamy. This is a champagne that sports a more savory profile with a truffle cashew vibe, but has plenty of golden raspberries and lemon scone fruit flavors. Oak and use of reserve wine is noticeable here but they play to the background. A toasty champagne but not an overly yeasty one. I love this style. This is close in profile to my favorite large house producer, Charles Heidsieck (their brut reserve), but this is slightly more savory…the CHeidsieck has an extra dimension I just love, but this is a great alternative.
