I brought this wine to the 33rd Naples wine luncheon. Amazing wine. — 5 months ago
Forgot to add this… Very pleasant blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. The crisp nature of Sauvignon Blanc is not lost between the creamier and more exotic elements of Chardonnay and Viognier. — 7 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2021 pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with beautiful notes of Luxardo cherry, strawberry, red roses, crazy sun-Alpine herbs, and exotic spices, porchini, the powdered cheese packet from Kraft, mac & cheese, and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose (save for the mac & cheese packet, lol). The finish is long, elegant and saline. Furthermore, the wine seems to gain body and weight with air. This might be the best Monvigliero I’ve had from Paolo Scavino. Drink now through 2051+. — 8 months ago
Poured into a decanter about 30 minutes prior to service and enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2019 San Valentino pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and a decent amount of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with sensational notes of Bing cherry, plum, licorice, Palo Santo, varnish, balsamico, exotic spices, and a mix of dried under brush and earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose . The finish is long and there is no shortage of excitement. A wine that simultaneously makes you think and fills you with joy. Drink now through 2034. — 8 months ago
Medium ruby color with a slight brick rim. Plentiful aromas of purple flowers, asphalt, must, menthol and dried dark fruit. Pallet is more dried red fruit driven along with notes of tobacco and black licorice. Quite acidic and a tannin structure that has mellowed with time. Intense but in great balance. Wonderful and interesting wine. Thank you for sharing, John B! — 3 years ago

The oldest wines appearing on the menu at Villa Baccaris, montforte’ alba are 2000. Beautifully smooth, still complex but are all great old wines in good condition more alike than different? 390 euros. — 8 months ago

Pale golden yellow color with aromas of stone fruit, citrus and herb spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple with slight citrus and honey notes and herb spice. Good acidity, balance and structure, medium+ finish ending with earthy mineral character. Very Nice! — a year ago
