Flight #1 of our 1997 Retrospective. Presented single-blind; no formal notes. Noticeably darker, bluer-fruited than the others in the flight. Plush and more rounded fruit profile. Structure still there. Arguably the most youthful of the flight since not all of the fruit is in the desiccated stage. Certainly the most modern of the flight. Called “Pahlmeyer”. Drink now through 2027. — 3 months ago
Deep ruby going to garnet at this age. Can't see the stem standing over the glass. Nose surprisingly bright and new oak influence still being felt. While not a carbonic process you can feel the whole berry fermentation works well to great here. — 3 months ago

Pale lemon color with aromas of ripe fruits, citrus, toasty vanilla oak and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peaches, pineapple and lemon citrus, well balanced with acidity on a nice creamy mouthfeel. Long finish ending with spicy vanilla oak, mineral and citrus notes, will continue to age. A big Chardonnay. Pair this with grilled Swordfish or spicy sushi. — 2 months ago
Wonderful cab. Fruit forward which makes sense given the vintage. Layers of complexity make this a really interesting one as it warms and changes character. — 3 months ago
