150+ years ago Giovanni Gaja opened small restaurant in Barbaresco, making wine to complement his food. 1859, he founded the Gaja Winery. Winery has been shaped by that of Angelo Gaja. Under Angelo's direction, the the native Nebbiolo grape was elevated to world-class esteem. Ruby, rich berry fruits aromas, earthy herbs. Palate, juicy cherry and raspberry with tobacco, black pepper, leather, savory tannins, great mouthfeel on rich long finish. Needs Cellaring! Tasting Sample! — 5 years ago
Had at Native Tongues with Meric. Fruitier but not overly sweet — 6 years ago
My first wine from Corsica I think. More vibrant fruit than expected for a Mediterranean savoury wine. Also almond notes. From the native ?????? Grape. Must look up and edit. Good Wine. And now for the all day Grand Cru Burgundy tasting from the 2015 vintage at Prince Wine Store. Wish me Luck! — 7 years ago

Wow. @Matthias Pippig killer stuff today. Started out with an unpleasant funk that blew off in about 30 seconds. After that it was all beautiful, luscious black and blue fruits with some savory complicating flavors. An awesome beauty!! Kudos. Wish I had more. — 9 years ago

This is remarkable. One of the best expressions of native American grapes that I've had the pleasure to taste. It's dry, elegant, and intriguing! — 10 years ago

Simple meal of tortellini with homemade pesto, green beans on the side. Open a bottle of Iron Horse Native Yeast Chardonnay, and simple becomes special. — 6 years ago
My favorite of the evening. Loved what the skin contact did for this wine. Clemens Busch dinner w/ Domestique and Williams Corner Wine. — 7 years ago
Nicky Hahn, grew up speaking German, his native language, the word ‘Hahn’ means rooster, which is why a depiction of this bird has always graced the label of his wines. Aromas of dark berry fruits and spicy floral notes. On the palate raspberry and blueberry flavors with tea and a touch of pepper spice. Fine soft tannins on lingering finish ending with earthy mineral tones. Nice value. — 8 years ago

Oof that’s good. All nectarine and creme fraiche. Impeccable balance. No butter or wonky barrel issues. For my taste, at this price, up there with the best of California chardonnay. Petaluma Gap. $50 at the winery but you can find it a bit cheaper. Winery Technical Notes: 76 clone, Whole-cluster pressing, 100% native yeast primary fermentation, 100% wild malolactic fermentation, 11 months in low toast, air-dry 3-year-old French oak, 25% new — 5 years ago
