Vigneti delle Dolomiti Teroldego

Was surprised to find a bottle of this with a bit of age on it at a supermarket in the Italian alps. Very lively, with lots of brambly fruit and cooler earthy undertones.

Love wines where the nose doesn’t match up with the palette. This was so brooding on the nose yet it was so fresh and fragrant and delicate once you taste it. Sooo good.

First time for the Teroldego grape for me. Apparently genetically related to Syrah. Cool maybe cold climate from northern Italy near the Dolomites. Some cowyard notes. Light to medium weight with low oak influence and medium minus tannins. Short term cellaring.

Dense fruit and mineral tones, deeply hued color, brambly black fruits, rustic and charming.

Native Itslian grape. Aged in Accia barrels. Soft and floral with serious body.

Crushed rocks, blackberry, coals, black plums, spice, clay like tannins but super lively acidity.

Needs more time .

Red berry, acidity, earth and some serious tannins! Not in the right spot just yet!

Classic producer and her signature grape. Tart black fruit, earthy.
