Yaaaa this is in a great place. Nose is sick. Huge levels of insanely complex spice. Xmas spices galore. Just wow. Pine resin. Wow. Smells like $150 Burgundy. Palate is juicy, nimble and racy. Gorgeous wine as usual. Pungent, high toned and very floral nose. Red cherries, sour cherries. Just soaring. Layered, so detailed with just incredible clarity. Palate is just awesome. So complete. Amazingly fresh and nimble. So stunningly pure. Washes with delicate and elegant minerals. Wow. Truly blowing me away. Such delicacy. Strong but elegant and ripe tannins. So pure. Really just a wonderful Jaspis. And pretty accessible. Beautiful smokiness to the nose. Hint of oak but also just like a Smokey bbq. Remarkable. The freshness is crazy on this. Just bursting. What a nose. Dark cherries. Spice. Very high toned. Superb stoney minerality. Haunting florals. Blackberry. Gorgeous delicacy. Wow. Elite level nose. Haunting. Has so much. Palate is superb. Sweet fruit, stones, laters of finesse, velvety almost pinpoint perfect tannins. Long complex finish that does not quit. Still only around 10% open after 10 minutes. But it’s all there. Wow that’s a long finish. Haunting. Ethereal. Gorgeous, classic CDC. Big tannins but so nimble and they weave in and out on the incredible finish. I’ll be back for an update after some air.

This is the level below the 2 Jaspis bottlings and represents the best value in the lineup of Pinots. Ethereal nose. Red fruited to the max, resinous, earthy, bright cranberry. An earthy perfume. Serious deep aromas. Like how fresh flowers are aromatic. 2014 is flames here. Palate is just terrific. In the Red Riesling school. Nimble yet densely fruited with extraordinary balance and purity. Big structure. Lovely tannins and freshness. Ideally needs an hour to breathe and the fruit to really shine. The fruit is stunning here and so lip-smacking and pure. Super long finish. Holee shit. Best nose of the morning. Smells like a scene in nature. Holy moly. Honeyed apricots. So so insane. Minerals. Peach. So vivid, so precise, icing on a cake. Confectionery but also a scene in nature. Wow. Saffron? Smells sweet like but is bone dry. Juicy and pure, so fresh and so compact. Structured and dense. Crystalline purity. Compact. Stunning. Wow acid. Cheeks tingle and tongue does not tingle. Amazing freshness. This is superb and dense, but so nimble and elegant. The length is endless. Very ripe nose of cassis and black/red berries. Very intense and deep. Forgot how ripe Bordeaux can get. Some earthen mossy scents as well. That classic Medoc thing under the ripeness. Elegant and complex with substantial structure and freshness. Deep cassis and wonderfully ripe and juicy tannins filled with nimble cassis fruit. A long finish. Such a killer Mölsheim. Apricot, mango, herbs, citrus, very aromatic. All that on a bed of minerals. Just gorgeous. Palate is energy for days and days. Grip, unreal fruit that is tangy and ripe but backed up by incredible acidity. It’s so staggeringly pure. Just delicious and an amazing hot day wine. Unreal texture, volume and amplitude and then gets mineral and nimble on the finish. Terrific. — 4 years ago

Lots of black cherries and very ripe plums. Really deep magneta. On the nose, black and blueberries. Some leather and barnyard too. Savory fruit. A very nimble 13.5%. Lots of acid and minerals and a tannic finish. But really balanced. — 6 years ago

What a wine what a wine what a mighty good wine

Dark purplish red as is the season - when I taste I immediately smile and laugh with hohoho sound - the smell is amazing with all the kitchen sink ingredients but somehow I smell mistletoe and cinnamon - ''tis the season again" - and the finish is long like when you watch a big snowflake fall from the sky - it takes forever and ever

Starting my annual Christmas wine journey and again thank you folks for making the wine taste even better with your likes and comments - more wine to come tonight and tomorrow
