Very nice Primitivo from the Puglia/Salento region. Dark ruby color. Paires wonderfully with Southern Italian food, but will go well with a variety of foods. Drank November 2025 — 7 months ago
So cool! Black cherry, mint/herbs, bittersweet smoky chocolate, med+ acidity, med body, tart finish. Glad I got to try this rarity! — 4 years ago
Explosion of flavor, dark, spicy - get balanced. — 6 years ago
Very good quality with a solid expression of its provenance and a good length. Bruised apples, yeast, bread, iodine and a dry chalkiness puts this right where it belongs a good concentration on the palate which could last longer. As all serious sherries it is performing well above its price which takes you the question that everyone ask themselves, why don’t I drink more sherry? — 7 years ago
Heady notes of muddled red raspberry, salami and meadow grass. Significant tannins and vanilla edge. Warm finish. — 7 years ago
Floral notes, light but interesting. 2023 vintage found at Fujiokas Kapolei — 12 days ago

Not the super sweet kind - which I like. — 7 years ago
This dark wine has a fruity nose of blackberry and plum, but there are some more savory notes as well. Black pepper, cigar box and black olive also come through. On the palate, licorice and plums are in the forefront of one of the fruitier flavor profiles I have tasted in Apulian Primitivos. The 16% alcohol is not as overpowering as I imagined it would be. The tannins are fairly forceful and the acidity is refreshing. This wine drinks really well and will pair nicely with a marbled rib eye steak. — 5 years ago
Very smooth, one of the smoothest we have tasted. Glass tasted at aan de Poel, Amsterdam with beef, cépe and celeriac — 7 years ago
Ruby colored liquid in my glass. Hints of cherry pie on the nose. Flavors of tart cherries, red plums and baking spices. Beautiful acidity. A very balanced wine. This is my last regular bottle of CP wine. I do have a VS Pinot which I will sit on for a while. Glad other wineries are making really good wines from the Clos Pepe vineyard. — 7 years ago
