This is why I love Bordeaux! $40 bottle tastes like $100! Lovely dark red color with purple and maroon rims. Classic Bordeaux nose of cedar, rust, flowers, and subtle cow shit. Aged cherries, anise, cedar, and lilacs on the palate. Lovely texture that coats and sticks. Medium plus depth and finish. Really good! — 2 days ago

2020 vintage. Laroque is a very large estate by Saint-Emilion standards, but only the best part of the vineyards is used for the grand vin. The 2019 was pretty good, but this 2020 is a horse of a different breed! — 5 months ago

This rating is just my taste. Not a reflection of the quality of the wine. I generally don’t care for the St Emilion region. The wine is just too austere for me. It’s 22% cab franc. It had a slight puckering dried out character without balance to me. Definitely can tell it’s a well made wine. Perhaps with a strong food pairing this would be a better experience for me but it was a wine I didn’t enjoy drinking. — 17 days ago
