Deep dark sensuous nose. A little sweeter on the palate than I prefer. — 18 days ago
This 2012 is delicious it has a lot of dark red fruit and dark black fruit that’s with cherries so silky tannins and it’s just lovely to drink once it opens up there’s a little bit more tar and a little more mushrooms so I’d recommend if you have a 2012 vintage and your seller drink now or forever hold your peace — 18 hours ago
1 hour decant (decent chunky/fine sediment). A forbidding still inky dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: Beautiful perfumed notes of dark plum, cedar, vanilla, pine, and herbs. Taste: smooth, rich wine with mouth coating silky tannins, black cherry, black pepper, little dark chocolate, smoke, and a blueberry cedar semi dry finish....slight touch of heat on the end?...a RP 100 pt wine tonight. Cheers! — 17 days ago
Popped and poured; no formal notes. A little shy upon opening but after 30min of air, this was bangin’! Montmorency cherry, orange peel, black tea, dry dusty earth, spices. Firm structure. Still quite youthful but undeniably delicious. A wonderful accompaniment to pasta, marinara and panzanella. Drinking very well now with a little air and should continue to do so for another 10+ years. — 8 days ago
Deep reddish tawny, a bit lighter and more translucent than the 78 Monprivato next to it. Aromatic, aged-Barolo type nose. Notes of red and black fruit, roses, tea, a little soy sauce and some wood. Silky in the mouth. Coats the palate. Still has some pucker. Really liked this. — 8 days ago
Wow. Intensely fruity on the nose. Raspberry coulis. Then on the palate more intense raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry, black currant, plum.. A little coffee at the end. Medium bodied, I think. Gentle tannins. Great depth, balance. Superb. And I think this was less than $30. Best part of my day right here. — 3 days ago
Pinot-Meunier grape variety. More concentrated dress than expected. Fine nose, interesting, on vegetal notes, peppery, blackcurrant-griotte. In the mouth the acidity is marked, the fruit is respected. We are on a northern red wine with very fine but salivating tannins. An alternative to Pinot-Black or gamay.
— a day ago
Nose: plums, black cherry, baking spices. Fragrant tree sap. A little Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit? Is that clove? The Juicy Fruit image is sticking.
Taste: dark cherry, spice, a dash of tobacco and black-tea-like tannins. Not my preferred varietals, but silky and well made. A surprise. 88-89. I’ll go 89. — 11 days ago
Dark ruby color. Aromas of earth, Forrest Floor, violets, rose hips and dried herbs. Pallet is full of black fruit with a hint of leather. Little, if any, pyrazine is present. No oak. (Completely aged in Stainless Steel.) Juicy texture. This wine has a memorable rustic quality. Thanks for the gift, Kase. — 20 hours ago
