La Quinta De Oro

Quinta de Lemos

Dona Santana Touriga Nacional Blend 2008

Very tasty aged Portuguese red. If I had it blind, I would guess Northern Spanish - Ribera del Duero or Rioja. Smooth and slightly musty/earthy from the age (got some cork crumbles). Opens pretty quickly, with concentrated red fruit and some blackberry. Pleasant tannic grip with a soft texture. Bold flavor throughout, big body (14.5% abv), some pepper and dry grass on a savory finish. Nice for a reasonable price. — a day ago

Lagar de Baixo Bairrada Baga 2020

Baga normaal gesproken pas na 10jr te drinken. Deze gemaakt voor jong. Niepoort familie. Prachtige geparfumeerde geur. Doet denken aan Nebbiolo in de geur, smaak in line. — 3 months ago

Quinta das Carvalhas

Douro Red Blend 2015

Just opened and poured and tasted, the bouquet was strong dark fruit with floral notes. Still a dark red with no visible signs of being 10 years old. Full mouth, delicious, really impressive again! — 12 days ago

Ruffino

Riserva Ducale Oro Gran Selezione Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2020

Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits, spice and toasty oak. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with spice, herbs, cacao, tobacco and toasty tones from 18 months of oak aging. Full ripe tannins you can bite into, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy toasty spice character. Nice! Will age! — a month ago

Quinta do Vale Meão

Meandro Douro Red Blend 2020

Dark red purple. Inviting nose and medium full, fruit-forward (for a European) palate of blueberry-blackberry compote. Bright medium acidity and medium minus tannins that mostly assert back-palate. Dark and slightly bitter finish (Touriga Nacional showing). Fine example of Portuguese non-Porto red. Ready for hearty entrées like roasted beef or pork. Drink now through 2028. — a month ago
