Great wine to start the night at Atelier Crenn. Good color and a little tight at first. An hour after opening, the nose transformed to opulent honeysuckle. Great weight and length. — 3 years ago
Petroleum, honeysuckle, yellow cake, and lavender nose. On the palate more petrol, peach nectar, honey, ruby red grapefruit, gunpowder, white pepper, with a powerful petrol after nose. I might have called this a quality german trocken Riesling in a blind test. This is a fabulous Viognier in the french style. — 5 years ago
Lemony pale gold color. Gardenia, honeysuckle, sweet tangerine with hints of golden apple, tropical fruits, and ginger in the bouquet. Dried apricots, ripe gooseberries, and fresh apples with lemon zest and candied ginger notes on the palate. Umami mushroom and cooking fat sensation lingers long on the finish with hints of white pepper. Medium bodied white that would probably pair well with a rich cream sauce but wonderful by itself. So hard to find a yummy and interesting white wine! — 6 years ago
A beautiful Condrieu! Very floral and mineral. Honeysuckle and fresh grass, lovely legs and an oily appearance, but it’s light and spicy at the finish. Perfect for summer and paired with fish or Asian food. — 6 years ago
Opened prior to dinner and enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2005 Blanc pours a deep straw color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe and tart orchard fruit: grapefruit, Meyer lemon, verbena, crème brûlée, honeysuckle, some pyrazines, a touch grassy, and warm wet rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose where the fruit comes across a touch more round (vintage playing role) but the acid is definitely giving more than adequate lift. The finish is long. The texture is viscous. Drink now through 2035. — 6 months ago
Marsanne is becoming one of my absolute favourite varieties. This wine comes from 70+ years vines with a natural low yield. Full bodied, savoury and rich. Fennel, lemon oil, pomelo, honeysuckle, beeswax, jasmine, tiger balm. The mid-palate is packed. The ending is fresh with an electric sensation that lingers on your palate for ages. Chapoutier is really a trustworthy winery for being such a major player in the Rhône. — 3 years ago
Delicious and easy to drink red. I get notes of cola and cherry. Paired very well with Neapolitan pizza — 5 years ago

Palate- Peach, pear, pineapple undertones., honeysuckle, a touch of slate & spices. Power & elegance. Floats across the palate seamlessly.
The balance of this is extraordinary. Highly recommended. Christmas in July. A gift from @Ron R Thank you again my very good friend. Miss you & hope to see you soon. — 5 years ago

Wow. Mark’s Lauren Vineyard chard is always my favorite, but this 2008 is absolutely unreal. Incredible nose of honeysuckle, white flowers, lemon peel, and a touch of vanilla, the mouthfeel on this is unbelievable. Impeccable balance, with a finish that lasts well over a minute, this is one of the best chardonnays I’ve had in a long time. Just awesome. — 6 years ago

lightly sweet with honeysuckle and hints of tangerine. Gentle fizz and easy drinking, no cloying but a light finish (Richard likes this one) — 7 years ago

Where do I begin… this wine is stunning.
It is positively golden in color with concentrated notes of caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, creme brûlée, dried apricot, yellow apple, peach, nectarine, yellow cherry, kumquat, baked quince, lemon curd, honeysuckle, butter cream, lavender,, dried herbs, fennel, beeswax, honey, chamomile, hazelnut, praline, honey, & wet stones…
It’s textured!!! Waxy & mouth coating, full bodied, round, & opulent.
Alcohol is high at 14.5% ABV — it’s warming but balanced and integrated with the deeply rooted flavors and elevated, vibrant acidity. Yum!!!!!
