Happy Twelve Days After My Birthday to me. I rarely see but always cherish wines from Henri Boillot. This Bourgogne outclasses the majority of village whites. Tastes and smells like a top quality Meursault to me, though I understand other villages contribute to the blend. Hazelnut, oatmeal, a little lemon oil, gorgeous fruit. Crisp in the mouth, with excellent buoyant acids and nice persistence. Yum. My rating might be a little generous because I’m happy to be drinking this! — 15 hours ago

1999 vintage. Some frequent guests brought this in and were worried about it having held up. In my experience, this decidedly, old-school producer needs more time than the average bear to come around and show well. Nice fill and great cork. Decanted and tasted after 20 minutes. Throwing a bit of sludgy/powdery sed but very manageable. Slight amount of funk on the nose that blew off within minutes. Wine was a tad flat at the onset but gained strength in the decanter/glass with more oxygen. The fruit, thankyouforasking, was just dandy. Tannins, while still evident, were functioning more like an omniscient narrator. Ridiculous, deep, like just bottled color to this wine. So ridiculous, had to check several times with different lighting/backgrounds to make sure it wasn't my imagination. Beautiful, older premier cru red Burg experience. 9.14.25. — a month ago

Quite light straw colour . Quite aromátic , quince , honeydew melon , white flowers . On the palate this is quite focused with green fruits , apple , quince and some chalk dust . There is a touch of creaminess to the mid palate which helps to round out the wine with decent mineral , flinty tinged length . Quite clean and fresh , young but still enjoyable , but will probably imorove over the next 3-5 years and last well a further 5 or so . — 2 months ago

Previous bottle opened a few months ago was very tired, but tonight we are back to form. Plenty of ripe and lean orchard fruit with a drop of lemon. Lots coming through for a village wine, both in terms of flavors as well as density. Very good now. — a month ago
