Soft and pretty. Delicate limestone and cool floral notes. A hint of salinity. Poised and balanced. Delicious — 2 years ago

1999 vintage. Some frequent guests brought this in and were worried about it having held up. In my experience, this decidedly, old-school producer needs more time than the average bear to come around and show well. Nice fill and great cork. Decanted and tasted after 20 minutes. Throwing a bit of sludgy/powdery sed but very manageable. Slight amount of funk on the nose that blew off within minutes. Wine was a tad flat at the onset but gained strength in the decanter/glass with more oxygen. The fruit, thankyouforasking, was just dandy. Tannins, while still evident, were functioning more like an omniscient narrator. Ridiculous, deep, like just bottled color to this wine. So ridiculous, had to check several times with different lighting/backgrounds to make sure it wasn't my imagination. Beautiful, older premier cru red Burg experience. 9.14.25. — 10 months ago
Color: almost no color
Nose: light floural
Fruit: critic and hints of passion fruit
Herbal: none or not detectable
Wood: none or not detectable
Acidity: good freshness, integrated and not sharp
Alcohol: medium to light body, not hot at all
Overall: good length, well balanced — 3 years ago
Consistently great value grower pink bubbles. Very crisp and mineral, a bit austere at this point, a lot of the sumptuous fruit has faded to leave chalk, some cranberry, and red grapefruit peel and pith.

Dark, rich color from the Petit Verdot. Wonderful blend of grapes from the Left Bank. My favorite bottle out of 7 that we tasted during a Bordeaux battle at Total Wine (Left vs Right bank). Two weeks later I brought a bottle to a party & shared with my closest friends with great success. Each sip takes you further into a sophisticated state of wine drinking. Balance and poise, rich tasting experience with notes of tobacco, leather and light spices. This wine is incredible for the price and launched my deep appreciation for Bordeaux wine as an experience. Love it!!! — 10 years ago
