Very nice cab based blend. Structural elements with a little earth and good dense weight

Excellent nose of cocoa, cassis, tar, cedar, barnyard, earthy loamy wet soil. Touch of stewed veg slight Brett which adds character but just on the edge of being too much. Medium bodied grippy chewy tanins and good length. Fun.

Distinctly average Bordeaux. Not bad, not great, just there.

Fine at wine tasting, full tannins. Not so much with new bottle. Smoky tones.

2012v. 70% cab sav/23% Merlot/7% petit verdot. Served around cellar temp, both after 2hr decant and the day after opening. Pours like ink with a purple rim. Complex nose: black cherry, blackberry, currant; a hint of violet from the verdot; and cedar/earth/cocoa/leather. On the palette, the earth flavors really underpin a big mouth full of dark fruit. Very drinkable, as the tannins have enough age to not be grippy. Overall, very smooth drinking with a nice QPR (bought for $15 on markdown @ TW). 12.5% ABV.

Above average. This wine was more Elegant for cab. Lots of cassis and earth notes. Needs some time. We'll see how she drinks on day two.
