New to Barolo, definitely a 2nd day wine in its youth. Much better than last nights glass,
James Suckling 98
"The fruit feels so comfortable here, in the ripe-red zone; it ranges from cherry kernel to chocolate-coated red plums to glazed cherries. Integrated hints of bark and sandalwood. Full-bodied with strapping tannins and muscular, imposing structure and power. Notwithstanding, everything is in striking balance and delivered with remarkable precision and grit."

"The Damilano 2016 Barolo Cannubi shows depth and a profound nature. This is the DNA of the Cannubi cru, maybe the most celebrated in the appellation with mildly compact, well-draining sandy soils (actually, a mix of 45 sand, 35 silt and 20 clay, to be precise). These conditions contribute to the dark concentration and the firm textural support found here. These assets are particularly apparent in this classic vintage. Dark fruit and dried cherry cede to earthy truffle and licorice. Of these various single-vineyard expressions, the tight tannins on this Cannubi definitely suggest a long drinking window. This wine is my favorite in this flight from Damilano, and this vintage of 40,000 bottles is distinguished by its sheer excellence." — 2 years ago
Viña Almaviva has earned the status as one of Chile’s most prestigious wines, and the 2014 certainly possesses the qualities to live up to that esteemed reputation. This utterly captivating blend includes 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Carmenère, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, which spent 18 months in new French oak. Displaying an impressive dark, inky color, this sensational red blend opens to profound aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark currants woven together with spices and cigar box, underlined by savory herbs, roasted coffee and dark chocolate nuances, which all beautifully take shape together. Full-bodied and remarkably structured this continues to impress with its remarkable depth and concentration, as layers of ripe dark fruits are framed by exotic spices. This continues to impress, as it shows excellent poise through the long multidemsional finish. While its pedigree is already quite apparent, this will demand at least a few years of bottle age before it will hit its stride. Nevertheless a sensational, age-worthy wine, which will thrive in the cellar for many years to come — 5 years ago
Poured into a Swan decanter about 30min prior to service. The 2018 “Le Cupole” pours a dark ruby with a near opaque, slightly hazy core. Medium+ viscosity with fairly significant staining of the tears. On the nose, powerful aromas of tart dusty cherries, currants, black plums, purple flowers, bell pepper, gravely earth and warm spices. On the palate, medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose however the fruits are showing more desiccated which is made apparent on the finish. So Italian despite being more Cab Franc and Merlot. Drink now with a short decant or enjoy through 2030 — 4 months ago
Popped and poured; no formal notes. A mix of dark and red fruits with tobacco, earth and spices. The wine is finally matured and drinking very well now. It has lost all of the green tones that were more apparent in its youth. Everything is now fully fleshed out and should continue to drink well for another 5+ years. Really, these are some lovely (and age-able) wines from the Four Corners area of CO.

Medium intensity rubi with nice soft tannins, red fruit flav and apparent high alcohol ( 15 abv). High acidity. I tasted this same vintages 2 years ago. Now it’s much better! Drink it now. Nice wine! — 4 years ago
Revisiting this wine and vintage. Good acidity, bone dry, pleasant mix of tropical fruit (guava, mango), nectarine, malic and citrus flavors. Mineral finish though no apparent lees character in initial tasting. Better integrated than previous tasting. A really remarkable everyday table wine that’s made for a special occasion. — 5 years ago
444 represents the Cab planting of the estate vineyard: 4 different clones, 4 different root stock, on 4 different blocks.
This is more exuberant than the other 2 cabs. More apparent leathery and herbaceous notes as well. Not as deep and polished. Very solid overall. — 8 months ago
Dark ruby red color. The nose is powerful: raspberries, chocolate and also leather. The mouthfeel is complex and balanced! The berries are immediately apparent, followed by savoryness, and hints of vanilla. The finish is long, intense, and full of round tannings but smooth as silk. Rioja, paella and Alejandro Sanz; can’t get more Spanish than that. And it may be the inspiration talking but this bottle is tasting as close to Rioja perfection as I’ve ever had. — 4 years ago

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium plus intensity.
Pretty nose with red and blue fruits, light oak, herbs, licorice, chocolates and spices.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, red currants, earth, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.
Long tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very interesting Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Not the typical Napa Cabernet. Very unique, spicy and tangy.
Soft and elegant on the palate, with nice complexity.
A good quality wine. Still young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
Good right out of the bottle and much better after an hour to open up properly.
The high alcohol is not very noticeable at this point.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Merlot.
14.7% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
