Worthy of its reputation. Truly perfect. Even @Valerie O'Shea and@Nancy Dwight might switch from burgundy. — 9 years ago
First bottle was corked. Took it back and exchanged it at my local wine store and they were more than happy to switch it out. After acquiring the new bottle, I let it breathe for approximately 16 hours before imbibing what was otherwise a fantastic wine. Large plum and blackberry notes brought this magenta toro to life. A hint of spice and mild tannins on the finish left a pleasant intrigue that only spurred the desire for a second, third, and fourth glass. — 9 years ago
Plenty of fresh tropical fruit, lightly textured and great acidity. Just like flicking a switch, suddenly it's summertime!
Loving it! — 10 years ago
Acidity cuts like a laser - did someone switch GC Chablis in my bottle?!? — 11 years ago
Toasted rock. Charred meats. And seriously just go gevrey Chambertin you'll thank me later. This is not bad at all but for the price you could get a lot more of whats here already if you switch up producer and terroir a little. — 9 years ago
Full body, black cherry, a hint of coffee, and a bit of tobacco on the palate. The nose reminiscent of black licorice, dark berries and a hint of oak. Yum! Though I would let it sit a bit in the glass as it comes across a bit cool in the nose die to alcohol content. Still delish for me! — 9 years ago
A reminder of the wine that flipped the switch. — 10 years ago
Smells like a green-leaf sort of cab, but then pulls a switch and turns into a mouthful of raspberry jam (technically dry jam). Then the char and tannins show up, slowly taking over until the finish. — 10 years ago
Not surprisingly, destroyed the appetizers but sang with the steaks. Still training the friends to switch wines with courses. :-/ — 11 years ago
Huge progression from the old worlds that we just pivoted from. Lavish bouquet of opulent fruits and a touch of menthol and bacon fat. Palette is explosive. The winemaker has packed a quart into a pint pot. Palette consists of jam, nutmeg, black olives, toast, and a hint of truffles. A huge fruit-bomb that I suggest you pair with you wife, or significant other. Stay home and switch the cellphones to silent... — 9 years ago
Going to switch to summer reds any day now....maybe — 9 years ago
Fruit forward switch an earthy finish — 9 years ago
Wine in my memory forever. Enjoyed on several occasions at Backstreet Cafe in 2013-2014. So light and refreshing, no needing to 'switch to red' with this one. restaurant price was only $39. Even non-white wine drinkers would be obsessed. Alas, it is no where to be found now. Not even new vintages.. Wahhh! — 10 years ago
2013. Bait and switch here, in a good way. Nose offers the purest, barely ripe peaches and appley scents, inviting you to think it's going to be Kabinett style, off- dry. And then WHAM! In the mouth it's crisp, linear, and minerally as all get out and bone dry. Great acidity too. — 10 years ago
Big and lush without being overpowering. One taste convinced a table of people to switch wines. — 10 years ago
