2005 vintage. Wowzers. Never been the biggest Lafite guy. Have had all the big vintages since/including 1961 but never been officially “wowed” or wowzered by Lafite. Achievement unlocked. Decanted and tasted after 2.5 hours. Threw a pretty respectable amount of sed. Cork was pristine. Nose was slightly more forward upon a high decant than usual. Light-medium body. Great, underlying richness flowing through from start to finish. An incredible 45 second denouement. Showing fantastically currently but no rush to crush. This ain’t goin nowhere. 11.5.23. — 7 months ago
Dark fruits, intense colour, great legs. A real bargain. — 6 years ago
Decanted. Not unforgiving, but still rigid. Showed some great potentials for a very long life ahead. Autumnal qualities with very concentrated redcurrant and earth. — 9 years ago
Great cheap red mix — 11 years ago
Weighty with a handsome perfume. Dense and inward. All the fruit is mature here but it has great length. This was a 375mL and it was consumed over 2.5 hours. It continued to open and needed a minimum of 30 minutes to start. Tons of sediment. All in all it was exactly what I expected and hoped. — 6 months ago
Absolutely drinking perfectly tonight, the 1999 CdPs always seemed less structured than other vintages around then, great acid balance, just a tiny bit of funk adds some nice complexity, excellent!! — 7 months ago
I didn’t want to like Josh due their incessant marketing in my area but bought some at the suggestion of a friend at work. When the bottle was empty I found myself wanting more. Pretty tasty. First sip not all that great, but it grew on me. — 8 months ago
Okay … cork completely fell apart on opening. Wine seemed unaffected though. Deep color but not yet dark. It was not as thick as I would have expected for 16 years. It was a bit underwhelming vs expectation. Not lengthy in its finish and missing the array of tropical flavors but was still good. Just not great. — 10 months ago
Wine of the night. This wine had EXCELLENT fruit, and showed NO VISIBLE SIGNS of decline. Great powerful blackberry. I was guessing 01 Stag's Leap or Rutherford. Turns out it was Caymus SS 01, but I was second guessing myself on the year because it was a very purple color into the decanter and showing well. The wine had great vanilla on the front, blackberry on the front, and a more youthful middle and finish with some herb. This wine has 10 years left in it no doubt. Whoever cut this one off at 2017 has no idea. This one literally showed no signs of decline whatsoever. Drink by date 2007 - 2030. — 7 years ago
Such a great "go to" wine. Crowd pleaser from the new wine drinker to the experienced Somm. Delish summer white! — 10 years ago
Excellent blend. Bold, complex body and smooth finish. Great for the price point. Enjoying with ocean in the back at One Ocean Resort and Spa. — 7 months ago
Great for the value if you like this type of big CA wine. — 9 months ago
Incredibly smooth wine. Dry for a Pinot but great taste and no harshness at all. Fantastic. — 8 years ago
