Super solid. Plenty of structure. Great value — 3 months ago
A little bit high on alcohol but a smooth suducer! — a month ago
Great balance of fruit and acid. East drinking. — 2 months ago
Not your standard jammy Monastrell: deep wafting (mostly) dark fruited aromas, licorice & minerals, just oozing - peppery notes as well. Broad smooth on palate (med + weight) not much acidity, rugged tannins leading to modest finish. Great QPR @ Costco — 5 months ago
Well, here’s to still having power. I don’t want to jinx us but it seems like every time we have a hurricane we lose power! I’m stocked up and ready. I’m in central Florida, in between Gainesville and Orlando. Please pray for those who will get hit the hardest tonight! 🙏🏻 I’ve spent the past few days in our Emergency Operations Center and it’s not supposed to be good especially since the coast hasn’t cleaned up from Helene. — 7 months ago
Dark purple in color. Bold and full bodied. Better if opened for a little while to breathe. Good overall for the price point. — 2 months ago
Really well balanced wine. Great tannin, acidity and texture. Lovely red fruit — 2 months ago
Made of 100% Garnatxa Blanca (Grenache Blanc) and from a great vintage. The Coma Alta is not as complex as it’s bigger brother Coma Blanca, but offer lots of nuances still, in terms of ripe white fruit, a bit of wood and vanilla, and a bit of spice. Great length! — 5 months ago
Sipping Fine Wine
1 of CA's oldest wineries, Far Niente, founded 1885 by John Benson. Winery flourished until Prohibition, when it was abandoned & fell into complete disrepair. Stately stone shell of a winery purchased in 1979 by Gil Nickel. A big wine! Tropical and stone fruit aromas with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate apple, peach and citrus flavors, creamy, with buttery toasty oak, fig/honey tones. Long finish ending with vibrant acidity & mineral character. Consistent. — 6 days ago
