Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo 2015

Ruby/ brick in color with medium intensity.

Beautiful nose with blue and red fruits, caramel, light oak, cooked cherries, red currants and tobacco leaf.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak, earth, chocolates, tobacco, espresso and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 10 year old Barolo is still fresh and vibrant. Delicious and easy drinking with a great mouthfeel. Complex and well balanced. Tangy and interesting.

Already drinking beautifully, and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years and beyond.

Gorgeous, elegant and robust. A great sipping wine to share with friends and talk about.

100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 6 years.

Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

Opened too young; lovely and exceptionally made wine. Brickish red/brown. I let decant for a loooong time. Lots of cranberry and red fruit, some herbs, clay, faint cedar and tobacco. The acidity was med-high, but the tannins really softened out with aeration. I'd say this is still developing flavors and will be 95+ in a decade. — 7 months ago

Langhe Nebbiolo 2022

The nose is textbook nebbiolo with cherry, sour cherry, tar, almond, hay, tobacco leaves, black tea and roasted pork shoulder juice 😀. The palate is rather big and bold with a strong acid drive, a dry palate through and through, some impressive width, cherry, tea and that savoury note reminiscent of the pork shoulder juice note I found on the nose. The mouthfeel is first soft and nice, with almost a sweeter touch, before a great tannic walls comes and disrupts the entire feel and triggers a rather long finish with tea, cherry, tobacco touches and again that savoury pork note. It's a lovely, not so complex nebbiolo but really well made and offering pleasure by itself or alongside dinner (we had it along chicken gizzard stew and it worked super well). — 9 months ago

Based on a sample of only this wine I would tend to agree, Jay. I will try to locate other examples now 😁

Sàgana Tenuta San Giacomo Nero d'Avola 2014

Not fair to compare it to the Noa since this one has 1 year more bottle age. Beautiful nose, very round and full of red fruit. It taste more "complete" than the Noa. — 6 years ago

Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2019

Purchased from Eataly Toronto, pairs better with food than alone. Thought the price was astronomical then remembered I’m in Canada, not the States. 🥴 — 4 years ago

Cannubi Barolo Nebbiolo 2020

Ruby in color with a wide brick rim.

Fruity nose with red fruits, flowers, metals, light earth and herbs.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, fresh picked cherries, vegetables, light wood, spices, coffee and peppercorn.

Spicy finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty, yet young, Barolo from the famous Cannubi plot in Barolo. Light and airy. Elegant, and feels very big.

Not very approachable yet, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Showing great potential to age nicely in the 10 years, and beyond.

100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged in large oak barrels for 32 months. A limited Production.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Liste Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

Ruby/ brick in color with medium intensity.

Beautiful nose of flowers, raspberries, earth, light herbs, light wood and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with mild complexity and a harsh mouthfeel.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Single Vineyard Barolo feels big and robust, but looks lighter than it feels. Very tasty though.

The 2019 Barolo vintage is less approachable now, but it's only going to get better from this point.

Needs a few years to mature in the bottle, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. A good food wine right now.
