Even though the vintage is ranked 82 by RP, this wine made an absolute great impression, entertaining different tones every sip. I felt more prominence of paper, forest, dry and wet, and autumn fallen dry leaves, mushrooms, with berries, jammed wild strawberries and some cranberries, coming wrapped in woody aromas. Highly elegant, well but not perfectly balanced with small show-offs of acidity, tannins or sweetness on the runway — 4 months ago
Lovely. Not earth shattering. Mellow-med bodies — 6 months ago
Tucked atop a steep hill in the Langhe is the small village of Barbaresco, home of the GAJA winery. Medium lemon color with aromas of delicate tropical, stone & citrus fruits with herb floral notes, blend of Vermentino and Viognier. On the palate rich pear and peach flavors, nutty herb and spicy notes. Long finish ending with fruit, herbs and generous mineral character. Nice! — 9 months ago
Well balanced. Refreshing, asian pear, lime , banana. — 3 years ago
Great example of a super approachable ER. This is the wine that I typically introduce people to who haven’t yet had an ER. — 8 months ago

Wonderful brightness of fruit and solid acidity. Lovely recommendation of the sommelier — 3 years ago
Opened beautifully. Lush first glass. Powerful cherry and dark fruit but not so sweet. Tannins made it mellow but long. Then the wine shut down and didn’t open back up for about 2 hours. It was sweeter but retained the complexity. It was in its drinking window but perhaps a longer decant next time or sit on this a few more years. — 4 months ago

The 2020 Barolo Sperss is a dark, brooding wine. Black fruit, leather, incense, game, gravel and scorched earth convey the essence of Serralunga's seriousness. A touch of small oak torrefaction character actually works well in this wine. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2024)

Patience. I need more patience. Opened and knew I should wait but one little sip here another there. And half the bottle was gone too early. Needed 3.5+ hours to open. Mature cherry mixed with tea leaves and dark fruit. Color was still dark red. Aromatic and musclebound. — 9 months ago
