Great white burgundy, typical of a young vintage and has great potential. Grass and lemon peel, lightly Oaked, buttery, with great acidity and a nice long finish. — 5 years ago
2017 vintage. Mediocre by itself. Pairs well with baked salmon. Much better than Kim Crawford. Both L and F agree. Get more. — 6 years ago
A very special treat as the first wine of a Cheval Blanc vertical cultivated by @Martin G Rivard @David L @Shawn R for their visit to SD this week and an incredibly generous hosting gift from them to me. This was astonishingly intact and not falling off much at all. The finish was initially astringent with a slight bleachy quality that blew off quickly. Still an ample amount of red fruit with a clear taste profile of blood, iron and mushroom. Fun as F*%* — 8 years ago

Holy fuck! This was delicious. Tight, but opened up nicely over the night. Held up nicely even till the next day - surprising almost for a low SO2 vino, probably buffered by the serious tannins. Old vine (100+ yo) and 15' intensity! Morello cherries, bramble, undergrowth, orange peel, spice, some floral tones, and a olive-like finish. I want more!

A tremendous wine. Needs only a short decant and it was singing!
On a side note, ran it through our FOSS and here's the stats (take it with a pinch of salt).
G/F: 0.1 g/l (value not to be trusted, but trust that it isn't totally dry)
pH: 3.79
TA: 6.2 g/l
Alc: 16.7% (OMG! Doesn't seem that hot)

Dynamite- toasty, tropical nose but laser focused palate- unreality and acidity carry the palate. — 4 years ago
Unknown % of Macabeo, Xarel-lo, Parellada, Chardonnay. 14 months on lees.
Super fun, loud & proud packaging which radiates positivity and happiness.
Young, energetic. Fruity, grass and mineral. Slight reductive note blows off, and easily masked with mixer or food. Excellent long lasting steady stream of bubbles.

W O N D E R F U L L ! ! South África great wines as usual — 8 years ago
Tremendous after a few hours in the decanter, and even better the next day. Exemplifies power and finesse like no other riesling. The incredible palate weight, electric acidity, not the mention the wacky fruit evolution (lime town straight up to exotic pineapples), and a finish that just keeps building. Perfect youngster!
Notes: One sip and BM commented that this can only be achieved in the vineyard. Analysis seems to agree too.
G/F: 3.5 g/l (~7 g/l RS)
TA: 7.9 g/l
pH: 2.77
Alc: 13.3%
H2M: 1.7
VA: 0.35 g/l
Pushing phenolic ripeness and concentration without sugar. Masterful balancing act to achieve that palate weight, with phenolics and RS.
When blinded, ACh first thought it might have been a Chardy, until the acidity kicks in. On the palate, spice and minerality too. Needs more time to truly reveal itself. — 8 years ago

My first Morlet. It's the most impressive California Cab I've had in several years. You know when a wine is so balanced and integrated its hard to describe? This is one of those wines. Fruit and oak are near perfection. Walks a perfect line between old and new world. Nirvana in a glass. @David L thanks so much for the introduction. I owe you big time. F&$k! — 9 years ago

Based on 2017 (60%) and I assume the rest is reserve wines; disg 03/20, 5 g/L dosage. Mousse is very dense at first. On the nose: green apple, brioche, lime, soft vanilla, verbena. The effervescence dissipates quickly, but obscures the nose a bit, as opposed to lifting it. On the palate: excellent acidity, if a bit prickly, wet stone, lemon oil, very mineral, and not showing so much fruit on the palate. White pepper and wet stone on the spicy finish. Seems very tightly wound right now...wait a long while on next bottle. — 5 years ago

Great QPR at $25.00 per mag
Winery notes,
beautiful terroir skillfully worked by Jérômine Paret and Philippe Garnier. Responding to the call of his parents, Jérômine gave up a career as an English teacher to take over the family estate. She then studied business and allied herself with Philippe Garnier, who has one goal in mind: to achieve excellence. She does not regret her choices today and her customers don't either! Thus, the estate evolves each year with new wines and techniques. The organically-farmed vineyards are planted mostly to Marsanne, and this is reflected in the blend, which also includes Bourboulenc, Clairette, Sauvignon, and Ugni Blanc. Fermented entirely in stainless steel and resin-lined cement vats, the wine shows notes of white flowers including honeysuckle, jasmin, and citrus blossom, while aeration reveals secondary nuances of aniseseed, eucalyptus, and hazelnut. — 5 years ago
This is amazing. I love chartreuse and had no idea they made a bottle like this. — 7 years ago
B e a u t i f u l . Even though it's bigger, Vaillons is always one of the best 1er crus. Also, how F'ing cool is old(ish) white wine? It's so interesting how these wines go from being timid and shy young, to being the most attractive, seductive bottle in the room a decade later. #burgundy #premiercru #chablis #dauvissat — 8 years ago
Très bon ! — 9 years ago
Rated this lower last night. I thought it was a bit too simple for the price, but in hindsight, there's nothing much to fault. A bit of reduction at the start, which blew off to reveal a deliciously fruity cuvee with hints of oxidation. Excellent dosage at 5.5 g/l. Racy, dry, balanced, with ample complexity. On the lighter side of grower champagne.
Note: For half the cost, I could probably find local cuvees that show somewhat like this. But irrespective of price (f Australian pricing), this was a very good wine. Perfect aperitif. Perhaps it needs some time in bottle. Love the LIP on the back label. Disgorged 2016, 65/35 PN/CH, 60/20/20 2013/11/12. — 9 years ago
