Not easy to find info, it seems to be an estate with 32 hectares of vines, planted with 50% Merlot, and equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A bit shy on the nose.Good concentration, not very complex, a little more extracted and less refined compared to Petit Bocq 2022 tasted alongside. Wow I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux but this was for a very special birthday and a big bottle seems in order ... it lived up to all expectations ... filled with many savory aromas in flavors like mushrooms, beef jerky, soy sauce but then also the trademark graphite/pencil lead quality. At 19 still seemed to have some years left to go before peaking!

Opened and double-decanted several hours prior to service; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 1996 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core. On the nose, the wine is developing and loaded with currants, pencil lead, earth and soft baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and super grippy; slightly bitter and earthy. A lovely, classic expression of Bordeaux and drinking well in its prime.
