Super interesting white/orange blend. Nose is full of rose and other dried florals, orange blossom, jasmine tea and green unripe nectarine, with the fruit showing better on day 2. Due to 15 days of skin contact, palate is slightly tannic and as a result comes across strongly like a lemony black sun tea, with juicy acidity that lacks an edge. Round, somewhat drying finish. Tough pairing with an Asian salad day 1 and a veggie curry day 2 - this needs something like a simple fish preparation. — 8 years ago
Favorite of the three single vineyards I tasted: picture compressed shelf of shale, crunchy layers of texture & fruit, crackling acid. Finger Lakes grosses gewächs. — 10 years ago
Top quality stuff! Plenty of acid still, would like to find a bottle to stash... From magnum. — 10 years ago
Dusty red fruit, bit of grip. Delicious. — 10 years ago
Very nice Cabernet, aromas of mulled spices, cedar, pepper, caramel. Mouthfeel is smooth and just the right amount of tannins. — 11 years ago
A great bargain with red fruits and a hint of smoke — 11 years ago
2012!! First taste of a very exciting vintage. — 12 years ago
This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley. Fruit forward with black fruits and chocolate notes, earth, vegetables, bell pepper, spices and peppercorn.
Nose of sweet red candy that fades out with airtime.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some complexity and tannins.
After a few hours of airtime it is much earthier with lots of vegetable notes.
Would benefit from another few years in the bottle.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

Phenominal. Can't say enough good about this white. The ONLY reason I don't give it a ten is because the Orange from Kivel Stadt is just a tad better! — 9 years ago
My favorite Napa field blend. Huge dark fruit nose., not for the faint of heart!! It is drinking incredibly well. Decanted 6 hours prior to drinking... was silky smooth yet with incredible intensity and depths of flavored. 😍 love it! This was the 3rd wine opened — 10 years ago
Superb blend of typicity with regional characteristics. Taste those old vines... One of the best Central Otagos I've tasted, and there have been many. Drinking perfectly now but still plenty of life, no need to rush. Purchased in Vancouver August 2015 for ~$55. — 10 years ago
Intense Vanilla Oak aroma, spiced fruit, dark cherry, cinnamon and nutmeg expand harmoniously and make way for a Devine finish. A FANTASTIC BUY for this blend that delivers a deep bandwidth of flavor. — 11 years ago

Complex yet accessible. Notes of dark red fruit. Balanced. — 11 years ago
Very dark. B.O. and horse sweat. Not getting much fruit on the nose. Pretty funky. Wow it has serious Euro flavors. Ink and black licorice. It’s complicated with lots of action. — 7 years ago
Big, bold cab but also jammier than the typical cab. Has Syrah like notes because of it. — 7 years ago

Saved this Magnum for a special evening. It lived up to all expectations...perfect balance, light, dry, with hints of honey. So glad we waited, so sorry it is gone. — 10 years ago
Very nice in the summer hint of lemons. Refreshing, very well priced too. — 10 years ago
Smooth, sweet, one of my faves! — 11 years ago
Crystal clear. Pure. Beautiful rendition of Riesling — 11 years ago
Exceptional year in upstate New York! Wagner only makes their Meritage blend from the best of the best years! A cooler climate red blend with great balance between darker fruit flavors, tannins and oak. — 12 years ago
One of our favorite whites. Crisp and light with a hint of lemon and melon. $13 at busters in Memphis. — 12 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Last bottle, had a bottle about a year ago, aged nicely. Their vineyard is a few miles away from the Pacific Ocean and aged, in French Oak, about 1/3 new, deep ruby with black fruit aromas and earthy floral spice notes. On the palate, soft raspberry, black cherry and blueberry flavors, rich and complex with integrated spice and oak. Smooth tannins with good balance of juicy acidity still has room to age. Lingering mineral finish, an outstanding wine. A real pleasure, wish I had more! — 6 years ago
