Just a tad bit of premox? Good, but not the best showing for this wine. A recent 2018 from this producer was in a much better spot. — 3 months ago
2020 vintage. Medium body. Pleasantly oily without being unctuous. Oodles of stone fruit and citrus with that anticipated and desired mineral underbelly. Finishes lighter and cleaner on the end palate than the experience thru the start, then mid-palate. Butcher’s prep. Mostly lean but just enough fat to stick with this cut consistently. In a word-revelatory. 4.10.24. — 4 months ago
One of the more accessible and expressive 05’s I’ve had in a while, Cathiard’s Vosne-esque Aux Murgers is open and giving wafting perfumed and spice laced dark berry fruit with violets, black tea and damp earth. The palate is pure silk, elegant and seductive, perhaps even belying the burly vintage typicity, with terrific persistence, balanced acids and soft tannins. An 05 that is finally ready to go! Beautiful wine. — 20 days ago
Surprised that it was juicier than I expected. Not bad at all, just less complex or mineral driven than I had expected. — 7 days ago
Unique in that Sylvain Pataille only uses his best grapes in this Rose. I was lucky enough to get a couple of bottles. Shared with Matt and Paul. Stunning bottle. Tart red berries, forest floor, a little tannic. Changed in the glass as it got air, revealing more layers and subtle nuances. — 3 months ago
