This was firing on all cylinders tonight. Caught at a point v.s. my palate preferences. This still had fruit power but also polished, pleasantly drying tannins. It had a lot of spices braced by just the right amount of sweetness. Truly a joy to drink tonight. — a month ago
Exquisite. Always solid. Paired with filet mignon. — 4 months ago
Fantastic tempranillo with exactly what you want: easy-drinking and fruit-forward on the front with some tannic lingering at the finish. — 5 months ago
Big rich red! At first sip, perfect — 6 months ago
WotN in a group of giants. Ping-pongy fireworks of flavor bursts none of which cancels out the others. Kept coming back to this. Wow. — a month ago
Drinking the 2019 in late 2024. Deep rich color. Thin legs that quickly disappear. Light bouquet, lots of fruit notes. Smooth on the palette with light tannins and a slightly sweet finish. Nice wine! — 5 months ago
Peaking right now, don’t wait: amber bricking on edge, black & red fruit - deep reservoir of ripe intense aromas & flavors, baking spices, worn leather, licorice, mineral - so expressive, massive on palate, beautifully balanced, tamed from so many years in bottle. Perfect accompaniment to my Saturday night T-Bone — 7 months ago

Always fun to explore an indigenous varietal from Spain - especially when Alvaro Palacios is involved. I found this Mencia wine to be medium bodied with good acidity and structured tannins that were present in this young wine but not obnoxiously so. The fruit is darker dried red fruit that proved to be a good compliment with grilled shishito peppers. It was so nice to dive into a new aspect of Spain’s wine history. — 3 months ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Deep Ruby color with aromas of fruit, spices and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with cedar, cacao and espresso notes. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, spice, oak and herb mineral character. — 11 days ago
