At our second special Caymus dinner on Sky Princess serving this wine. I’ve had lots of Caymus wines over the years. This is in line with the brand, but not what I remember from the wines from the late 70’s. As the price increased, I lost interest. It’s ok, but I feel there are better wines at the price point for the Cabernet Sauvignon. — a month ago

Really a wonderful old Riesling. Last had 2 years ago and I think this is our last bottle. The color in the glass is amazing. The palate matches - so deep and rich but still with balance. Was probably overall better 2 years ago as more of the acid was still there but this is still excellent. — 5 months ago

This Cabernet Sauvignon is inky dark in color, with layers of ripe, sweet, juicy, lush, dark fruits, a blast of oak and a sweet, ripe, round textured finish with hints of licorice and dark chocolate that completes the palate for a full complex flavor. It's a must have wine. — a month ago

See previous note in June 2023 where I questioned the ripeness of the fruit. This has the trademark spice and pepper. Very little fruit, more savoury characters. From one of Australia’s leading cool climate wineries. As Jancis said, “a real sense of place “ - in this case the Macedon Ranges just north of Tullamarine Airport. Very different to SA Shiraz. Just medium bodied - a leathery note with balanced tannins. As in previous note a touch of astringency at the finish. — 13 days ago
