Yummy and chewy. This wine is very bright and approachable. Cherry, blueberry, cranberry, violets, and vanilla lead to a soft, Jolly Rancher finish with shy tannins. This is a real treat today, especially after drinking my sister's Tableau.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over a red sauce pasta night at home. High shoulder fill, but the cork completely disintegrated during removal. Juice is still drinking exceptionally well; shockingly fresh for being 40. Tons of black fruit and strong spices, with its age showing via expected tobacco and leather notes. Imposing on the palate yet balanced and elegant. Full bodied, high alcohol, fine grain tannings, medium acidity, with a long finish and notes of ripe red fruit.
